Or craftable fishing rods to get those pesky fishes quicker so poor slobs like me can quicken the miserable grind for the Master Angler title

I dunno about the same loot table as heavy sacks but better loot would be nice. Or at least more useful loot and fewer Ta runes. I have 8k TA and I swear 1/3 of those are from gunny sacks from when I did Master Angler on my main.

I don't think fishing is bad. It could use some improvements but overall It's a nice change of pace, lets me enjoy the Tamriel scenery (except when the fishing area is overrun by bots) and lets me be in-game and avail to players needing help without being too tied up. I watch You Tube or Netflix, work on my language studies or even do upper body free weights when I'm casting. It really is not a bad way to spend a couple of hours.

Since most of us are fishing in order to get Perfect Roe after filleting the fish, it would be cool to actually get a Perfect Roe from those gunny sacks. Although, anything would be better than a Ta. At least when I go to an enchanting rune, I get other runestones besides a Ta.

No in WoW you are fishing and have INSTANTLY the filet in your inventory.

ESO is much better in that way, more realistic!

(and yes in both games you can get more than fishies with your rod)

I think fishing should have its own proper profession/guild. But that would be a complex fix. I dont think your loot table adjustment would have a big impact in the popularity of fishing. It doesnt make fishing anymore desirable for me, and i actually fish.

You would either have to increase the drop rate of perfect roe , increase the gold earned/time ratio of doing it, or making it more entertaining. I would like to see something done with it, its about as exciting as watching grass grow now, and its not a necessary part of the game.Perfect Roe is to rare to make it worthwhile. The time it takes to get one perfect roe i could of made twice as much farming OW treasure chests.

They added in some furnishing items to the table, so that gave a little more to get, but it could still use a total revamp.

How about an npc that you can trade rare fish to for pieces of a fishing themed costume, and once you get all pieces, you can put them together?

Upgraded rod variations that increase the catch rate of certain things, like a furnishing rod, gunny sack (after upgraded loot) rod, and one that gives special fish with a higher chance to drop roe?

maybe some rare fish can be used to make purple food recipes. A reason for high content to actually use the fishing into the buffs.

Fishing is fine as it is. ZOS never wanted the secondary tasks to be all as easy as each other, hence the difference between say provisioning and enchanting. Fishing isn't supposed to be about what you get in a gunny sack. It's not for everyone, but for those it is intended for it provides a real sense of achievement.

Can it be improved? Certainly, and expanded too. But please let's not lobby to have it dumbed down or given a reward system akin to opening treasure chests, that's not what it's about.
