ESO Account Top Ups.

It's probably been said to death and don't worry, this is not about there no longer being game top up cards. I imagine, like a lot of people, my sub renewal can come at an awkward time of month (the joys of being self-employed). I was just thinking the other day, it would be fantastic if ESO accounts had a top up feature, like Amazon does. I'm not talking about buying a gift card for 28 days of ESO Plus, an account total, that can be topped up and used at any point (obviously you could not withdraw funds from this).
This could be topped up, when you have a bit of spare cash going - at the end of the month, when a client pays you, when the sailors at Daggerfall docks get paid and give you your dues (you dirty moo). It works for the younger players too, those at uni for example. Little Tarquin is at the University of Plinkity-Upon-Flange and mummy dearest wants to give him a birthday present and she puts fifty quid into his ESO account.
Everyone would benefit from this as it could be set as the default payment system for subs and also used for buying crown points and ESO gets advanced assets that can be utilised in development or investment.

Can't you just end up saving enough to be a month ahead on ESO+?

If you could end up buying the "top-up," I would think you'd be able to reserve one months' worth of ESO+ cost? This would have the same effect without them having to restructure anything or add an additional payment feature.
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

IRL'ing for a while for assorted reasons, in forum, and in game.
I am neither warm, nor fuzzy...
Probably has checkbox on Customer Service profile that say High Aggro, 99% immunity to BS

That wasn't really the point of the post.

    not a bad idea.

i think it's a shame that they dropped the 180 day option for new subscribers.

Simple solution add ESO+ Sub tokens / WoW tokens, even though it'll go against the whole "P2w" type deal, atleast it'll only be for gold in game and people would have to pay 5$ more to buy a token so that's 5$ more than the original 15$ ESO would have gotten per token someone would buy.

The prior subscription cards were InComm Fast Card, which is a product or retailer specific alternative to prepaid Visa or MasterCard debit cards. Fast Card is fairly low liability.

Fast Card would probably be the accepted method to go back to, as creating the infrastructure to accept, convert, and store cash balances is something most retailers just don't need to do with prepaid cards already in existence. Let the card issuers deal with fraud and customer issues.

Also remember that there's the whole matter of third party transaction fees. Not only does Amazon Cash have a minimum deposit of $15, they have their subsidiary (ACI Gift Cards LLC) handling the transaction for them so there's no fee. Few other companies have a convenient arrangement like this so it's really difficult to expect other retailers to behave like Amazon.

I think Amazon got rid of that. I popped £1 in there today. :P

I'm just thinking that if you put $50 in your ESO account, it's there for whatever you want and ESO have it either gathering interest, available for development or the all important shareholder dividends.

I used to use the ESO Plus cards for PC, but I guess they didn't work out for them. They last few I used had to be activated with the assistance of Customer Support because the system no longer recognized them. Back when they sold them, it was perfect for picking up an additional 60 days, or even giving out as a gift card for people I know who played.

Yeah, I liked the 180-day sub price of $9.99 month. The only thing that sucked about it is you only got your crown "allowance" when your sub renewed, so if you didn't have crowns saved up when one of their offers came up, you either had to by more crowns with cash, or hope the offer was still around when your sub renewed.

Couldn't you just use a rechargeable credit card to sub for the game and deposit funds to it whenever you were able to? As long as you had the required monthly amount on the card at time of renewal, you should be fine.

    Yup!

And as a note to the OP. I imagine you mean something similiar to a steam wallet? Could be helpful for some folks.
