Are Stamplar and Stamsorc too similar?

I hardly ever play my Stamplar - out of all the classes, i play her the least...i was always wondering why...and i think i found the reason - Stamplar just plays too similar to a weaker version of the Stamsorc (in pve that is, don't know about pvp)...Are the two classes just too similar? Is there any interesting way, set up, sets etc. that make stamplar gameplay feel really different? It also doesn't help that most of the "iconic" templar skills don't really work or aren't that beneficial on a Stamplar.... what are your experiences, tips, recommendations?

Stamplar has a unique pve debuff: minor fracture/breach.

I also think using Master Architecht + empowering sweep is viable on stamplar but I’m not 100% certain. If so that’s something else that stam sorc doesn’t do

Not at all, my stamplar and stamsorc are way different, maybe you need to consider which skills you're using?

I think you mean War Machine which is still better on a stamblade. I never thought about it on a stamplar though thats an interesting thought. Master Architect is the magicka version

I have that impression about ranged Magicka Templar vs. non-pet Magicka Sorcerer. Stamina Sorcerer and Templar have slightly different rotations, but they are dissimilar in about the same degree as other stamina classes are between themselves; for example stamina Sorcerer doesn't have a class spammable (Biting Jabs), and also doesn't have a delayed damage skill (PotL).

In my noob status i thought all stam classes were the same....how very wrong I was when I rolled out a stamNB and stamSORC 1st.

Now I have all classes a stam version. Keep playing that toon, quests, dungeons, pvp...etc etc, you will find the difference in it. Magicka or Stam across all the classes has some tag line sameness about it. But they are different.

Just a shame we dont have enough character slots on our accounts to roll out one of each dd, heal and tank *cough cough*

If Zos is reading this I would pay to have 25 toon slots plus more...

I used to run War Machine on my Stamplar and it works out well but there's no way I can get the uptime on Major Slayer that a Stamblade can get.

As for the OP, I don't think that stamplar and stam sorc play similarly at all. Stam sorc is like other stam classes as your rotation revolves around your back bar DoTs and stamplar rotation revolves around PotL. Stamplar is also stronger in group PvE (especially trials) because of their group utility from PotL and minor sorcery while stam sorc brings just a little added AoE damage.
