    Only now I realized how different they look in the ESO comparing to other TES games. The closer to the icon picture appearance was in TES IV, when in TES III and V they have much more pronounced jaws. Check picture below for details.

    It’s interesting that the underwater model isn’t what the fish icon looks like. If you’re swimming into slaughter fish territory you see the generic fish shade you can see in fishing spots too, which is rather long shaped and not the round form you’d expect from the icon. The shade looks trout like, certainly not round.

    Oh yeah! I remember that quest in Oblivion where you have to punch the fish to death by the bridge to get the under water breathing enchant/ring....... That was a fun mission
