Set Requirement Reduction Items?

Is there anyway that we can 1 day have something like this introduced in ESO?

Basically what these items are, are items that allow you to reduce the number of items needed for set bonuses by 1. Meaning for example you could wear 4 pieces for a 5pcs. bonus set, and obtain the 5pcs. bonus. Many multiplayer and single-player games have these items in them, to allow even deeper build construction. While enabling players to mix and match sets for variety.

For example, Diablo 3 has this as an accessory item (ring), called “The Royal Ring of Grandeur”. While Nioh has this as the “Yasakani Magatama". And I can name many other games that utilize items similar to these. But ESO has none. Why? Just think for a moment. Being able to wear 4pcs. BSW, but obtaining the 5pcs. bonus. Or being able to wear 2pcs. Willpower, and obtain the 3pcs. bonus. The combinations could be endless, and would allow a lot more variety in builds that we see today.

What? That would make no sense, and completely defeat the purpose of having the best bonus on the 5th piece. FYI most dropped sets do already have rings that reduce the number of remaining slots you need... mostly because they are a piece of equipment... so yeah. If they allowed people to just skip to the final bonus you'd see people wearing Infallable-Moondancing-Acrchitect-of-Julianos'-Mother with Illabris-Skoria and a master/maelstrom destro setup. Is that what you want?

Why not just add more gear slots?

Like we could pretend we have 4 functioning fingers instead of just 2?

Five, there is the thumb, not a finger but Tom Brady has one on his thumb.

It still royally pisses me off that the Craglorn-era 3 piece sets were nerfed into 5 piece sets (they weren't even good as 3 piece sets) and that the "weapons and jewelry" sets were retired without actually ever being obtainable so far as I know.

I still keep my weird VR 14 Elf Doom Maul and White Bow of Alinor and such, the "vet dungeon" 3 piece set items that seemingly were all missing one piece from the loot table.

Add two earrings but put them behind a paywall like RIFT did.

Not really skipping the final bonus, but simply removing the amount of gear required to achieve certain bonuses.

For example, let’s say ESO had the RoRG (Ring of Royal Grandeur) in it. That ring in and of itself would be a 1pcs. set bonus (think Maelstrom weapon), which had the effect that reduced set requirement amounts by 1. Now then. That leaves us with 1 necklace and 1 ring slot open. Correct? You could then wear 2pcs. Vicious Ophidian (let’s say necklace and ring), and obtain “Minor Slayer” that way. Then for your base gear, you’d wear 4pcs. Spriggan. Thus allowing you to get that 5pcs. bonus of increased physical penetration. That leaves you with 3 slots available (not including weapons) for the body. Thus allowing even more mixing and matching. The possibilities would be incredible.

And mind you, that was just for a PvE example. For PvP, you could do things like getting the 3pcs. bonus of the Willpower set for example. Just from having a Willpower 1H and shield. Thus freeing up your 2 jewelry slots entirely for other things if you’d like. There would be so many different build combinations and variants I can think of which could make so many things viable which once weren’t. And thus making a lot of 3pcs. bonus gear no longer useless, and or outclassed by other things. Grace of the Ancients for example could be stacked with Willpower, and thus enabling a huge boost in max magicka for pet build users and those looking for stronger damage shields. Plus a variety of other options. It really would open the doors wider to a ton of builds.
