what's going on with CHOKETHORN LIGHT shoulders?

I'm just about done with the @#^!*& up RNG in this game...

Been trying to get the CHOKETHORN shoulders in LIGHT for a healer (I don't want to talk about BIS right now), and found I have 36 heavy CHOKETHORN shoulders, and no LIGHT pieces (any trait) across 6 different characters. WTF?

Do these come from the chests in light? Is the RNG completely broke? Is it just time to uninstall due to ZOS RNG maths?

Seriously, this isn't even funny anymore? How about we convert a significant amount of RNG to a token buy system? Where data "smart loot"?!?!?!?

I guess I could just farm AP and buy them if they ever show up again at the golden vendor!!?!? Seriously, can we stop doing RNG even with the vendors... just put all the !@#&^%! in the shop to buy and stop !@#&!@* around.

I went through that with Grothdarr, but that was before trait changing. I went through 250 or so keys to get what I wanted. Luckily with more and more sets coming out, we now have trait change as the percentage chance of getting the set and armor type is lower and lower...as you found out.

That's some pretty crappy RNG for sure.

You just have bad RNG. I found like 12 light divines chokethorn shoulders before I got a single Kragh (light prosperous). Probably spent 100 keys on that chest.

Exactly, and the pools further diluted by moar sets, and crap traits...

it's a @*#&^!@ statistical improbability that I'd only have 36 HEAVY pauldurons of CHOKETHORN and never receive a medium or light... can we send some ZOS developers to remedial math class, or probability and statistics?

Wasn't there sposta be some "smartloot" system?

we're talking about over at least a year of running pledges and keys on multiple characters (over 650 some odd keys at least). So I should create a new account and get a surplus of light?

Seriously, it's time for ZOS to come clean on their bull!t RNG system.

The only chest getting more sets is the one for the DLC's. Maj's hasn't changed since one tamriel.
Also smart loot is when they remove ravager bow because the set only procs off melee

I've only ever found it in medium. LOL. Either light or heavy would work for me, but medium is the one that's useless for me. So I found it in medium, of course.

I guess im just lucky with Monster sets. Would be nice if you could convert to the armor type of your choice.

I do wish the chests were more split up. Or you got a token from the chest for that set type which you redeemed for the weight of your choosing (random trait still).

I will tell you that when doing content on a character that is wearing light I get heavy drops, wearing medium I get light and heavy and so on. Get some keys on a heavy wearing Nord and you will get all the light shoulders you ever needed. I swear there is some code or algorithm that determines what you get based on what you are, and tends to lean away from the desired weight, trait, etc.

I'm actually willing to try this at this point... I can't remember, are the drops pre-defined at the time you get the key, or when you unlock the chest?

Hmm, might try putting on some medium armor and see if the results change. There's more to the algorithm than just simple RNG to be sure.

I remember when i did 100+ runs just to get skoria helm in any trait lol... RNG is rigged...
