PvE Example:

Templar holding block while being bombarded by 5 players, but still mashing BoL. Templar is able to reduce incoming damage, prevent crowd control effects, and stay alive.

I say "no" for the only reason that it's just too late now: PvE and PvP have been developed around this mechanic and the Stockholm syndrome has taken over the majority of the player base already.

If I was in charge to make a new eso from scratch, I would kick Blockcasting virtual butt until it becomes real just to kick it again.

Have DK's not suffered enough at this point?

There is literally no possible way ANYONE will complete a vet trial well at all if you remove block casting. It will be a wipe fest for everyone, regardless of who it may be.

The game bosses ARE DESIGNED WITH BLOCK CAST IN MIND. If you just took it out all Tanks are dead.

Literally couldn't complete the final boss in vDSA without a little block casting. Your butt would be dead. Every time
y'all get a little butt hurt in PVP they do some enormous nerf to make trials nearly impossible. Stop it.

You will have to completely overhaul pve trials and dungeons, which will mean that zos has to rewrite the game and chances of that happening are essentially 0

This goes both ways. You know how bad mobility is on a mag character with 9k stam? Block casting may cost stam builds their most precious resource, but it is not like mag characters have an over abundance of that resource to begin with.

Seriously, would be disaster changing not just all DK magicka playstyle, but healers and tanking playstyle as well. How can you heal a trial without casting block and healing spring, or throwing a shard while blocking for a tank? Or even casting a vigor while blocking and tanking? What would be next? Remove cancel animations with block?
