Discussion for Outfit System Per Use Cost

From reading PTS notes I see that using the outfit system and dying items can be anywhere from 5k gold to over 25k gold each time a person changes an outift. The other method that bypasses gold is purchasing Outift Tokens with crowns. I agree that additional outfit slots should cost crowns (they need to make money somehow), but I disagree with paying in-game gold for motifs and colors I already earned.
Thoughts?

I personally don't really mind the cost (I'm not against reducing the price, though). It would be quite nice if we could just use the style material instead of gold, and vice versa without the style material.

I think it's an exploit to pay gold whenever the outfit it's updated (especially if you're a new player). You pay once upon creating. Paying for changing e.g a dye on a piece of armour or weapon is not fair.

Some have suggested that ESO + not be charged gold. At least then ZOS would still have an income stream which they do deserve and need.

It's expensive so you pay real money. Classic manipulation of its player base and shows their huge lack of respect for us. They already have multiple income streams such as loot boxes and making motiffs super rare so you buybthem..mounts..housing..basically anything good they will throw l in the vs tore.

We should not have to pay to make an outfit or to dye it..that's rediculous and underhanded

Its both a gold sink and designed to push players towards actually buying the outfit change tokens for convenience.

Exploit? I think you misunderstood the meaning of that word.

Really like that idea! Style materials are almost worthless otherwise, unless they are needed for furniture.

They mean that ZOS is exploiting us by incorporating micro-transactions every time you change something as simple as a dye.

I'm more worried if motifs will become cross character. Gold cost to change appearance is nothing compared to motif availability and/or cost.

    Thank you.
    Yes, I meant that.

Wait, does this apply only to outfits, or also to dyeing normal armor and costumes?

    Just the new outfit system.

At the end of the day, the Outfit system is just another style option in the pile of style options we have.

Some will dress themselves head to foot in a specific motif, others will change one or two pieces that clash with their existing armor set. And some already use costumes so the system doesn't affect them.

I wouldn't be opposed to ZOS adding AP and Tel Var options for the Outfit system as those are valid earned currencies. But to avoid over-complicating the UI, you could only use gold or AP or Tel Var per session.

But I think the main issue here is the per-session cost, which, once you settle in to the system, you'll go from changing things a few times a week to maybe once per quarter. If you have a computer, you can also experiment with the system on PTS before spending the gold on motifs or Outfit costs.

I’d agree that gold should actually replace the crown options. I’m not against also allowing folks to use crowns but the price per.....just wait

I’d also agree once unlocked, swapping artwork shouldn’t cost gold.

The devs......continue to cause negative attention for stuff let alone this isn’t even what was asked for in the first place.

I can understand changing what the appearance is, but dying is free right now, why does it cost after the update. Good job earning that achievement, here's a dye, hope you have gold to use it. It isn't as if we don't have enough gold sinks in this game.

For me it's this simple : if the cost is exorbitant I'll just set one outfit per character and never change it.
I’d also agree once unlocked, swapping artwork shouldn’t cost gold.

This is monetization driving game design.

If it didn't cost gold to change outfits then players would just visit a station, make changes, and carry on playing. Without spending any $$$$. The gold cost is to encourage players to buy more outfit slots.

I’m fine with spending gold on it, but the price definately should be reduced.

A relatively small gold sink is fine, but there are a lot of people, often on the more casual side of the spectrum who barely have 20k across all characters.

...Ok fine, in other words, I barely have 20k across my characters atm.
