Will you buy the Summerset Chapter if it doesn't come with a new class/spell crafting?

After pre ordering Morrowind I was not unhappy but realise that I can wait a few months after release for any future similar "pay for" expansions and likely save a good amount of the cost.

After all I have been playing this game for over 2 years as sub, I have now 14 characters and have not yet finished all existing content on even 1 character. There is so much to do in this game :)

I have been playing my main character since PC launch in 2014. Even with a stable of characters at my disposal, and more hours in the game than I wish to admit to, there are still things in the game that I have not done.

I will pre-order the 2018 Chapter. Possibly the upgraded digital version, depending on what they toss in for attractive smelling bait. I will beta test it, if they offer. I will probably also buy it for PS4, just to keep that platform complete, but such purchases are secondary and can wait for discounts.

Would like to see a new class. Not bothered about spell crafting, would prefer jewellery crafting. For a chapter there needs to be something special, but as long as I'm still playing by then, yes.

This. Except will wait to buy when the price comes down this time.

I'll buy any content they release no matter what, because I want all. That makes me part of the problem but w/e.

I'm not expecting either of those things to ever come, honestly, and I'm not sure where the idea is coming from that everyone else is expecting them now.

So ya, I will be buying even if those things are not included.

ZOS Devs have stated a long time ago that spell crafting is on the "back burner" until they can figure out a way to add it to ESO without it being completely broken and OP. Which means we'll see spellcrafting... never.

I never expected spellcrafting and hoped to not see a new class this year, so I'll buy the new chapter when it comes out.

NO MORE PETS! As a tank I absolutely hate the things. The clanfear and bear steal aggro from me, and worse than that is the scamp...I hate that thing with a passion, always stunning enemies so I cant chains them in.

As for whether I will buy it as a chapter? probably, because how else do you get new content in this game?

Great idea demonstrating to Zos that Chapters will sell very well without adding a new class or something similar. Poll is certainly in their favor.

While I think Zos will include something of "added value" because they have set the expectation, you demonstrated their new model will work regardless.

    For a while.

ZoS knew that they couldn't lose with Morrowind - they could serve up anything and people would still buy it out of nostalgia. However, Vvardenfell didn't really sparkle. I'll give them another chance, but if they mess up again then I won't be buying chapters.

Granted some were not pleased with Vvardenfell however, that is basically the case with anything in the game.

For the most part the expansion has been strongly welcomed and the poll here indicated those in these forums overwhelmingly agree it was a good chapter.

They are saying they'd buy the next chapter even if it has less added value. That says tons.

For me it is more dependent on when it actually comes out. If I have nothing else to play by then I’ll probably buy it.

Although if it doesn’t have a class or spell crafting there better be a crap ton of quest or something to justify the cost. Unless they have gone full milk.

I'll probably only buy it when it drops drastically in price. I have barely scratched the surface of Morrowind and an expansion full of altmer isn't exactly something I'm looking forward to.

How can people have decisions made on the purchase of new DLC that hasn't even been confirmed let alone seen?

For me because I will buy any and every new chapter. End of.

I don’t care about a new class or spellcrafting.

I haven’t bought Morrowind yet but I’m ready to now, because I’ve finally finished almost every major storyline in the base game and existing DLC’s. However other than more story content Morrowind doesn’t offer anything especially appealing to me (BG, bear class, no thanks), so I’m not interested in paying more than a few bucks for it.

A new ‘chapter’ would have to offer more than a DLC that was actually appealing to me for me to pay full price for it. Otherwise I’m content to wait until I’ve run out of anything else to do and I can pick up the chapter super cheap.

In short, I’ll eventually buy it no matter what’s in it, but what’s in it will determine how much I’m willing to pay for it and how soon.

Here is a copy of a ESO Twitter response from May 2017.. Yes, ZoS is still planning on Spellcrafting. It's not dead yet!!!

Spellcrafting is still something we're thinking about adding to #ESO in the future.

I personally thought that Morrowind was disappointing and not good value for money for the pre-order price. If there is even less in this new chapter then no way am I shelling out for the pre-order price. I will wait until 2 months later when it drops to a tenner. :)

^^ ×1000. It needs something major to distinguish as a Chapter, otherwise Orsinium was a chapter with no upcharge and was free to ESO+.

I only buy it, if it comes with jewelry crafting, waiting 4 years for that!
who cares about a new class, we need jewelry crafting, and we need it NOW!

I see spell crafting all the time in the forums. What would that even look like? I guess I just don't understand what you all mean by spell crafting. Anyway I will still buy the next chapter regardless.

This poll is incomplete. You have no option for "wait and see." If it doesn't come with spellcrafting or a new class, what will it come with. Those aren't the only things missing from this game.

We dont need spell crafting or yet another class. They just need to make the summerset isle zone really large with alot of quests, trials, dungeons.
Morrowind was too small to be a proper expansion IMO, which is why they added Warden and battlegrounds to make up for the paltry size of vardenfell.

Anything added by the next chapter will have to sux or there will be a huge p2w outcry. You cannot lock BiS gear behind a pay wall. I am hoping they will not add spell or jewelry crafting to the chapter and do we need another support class? If they put a new class in the chapter it cannot be what people want because p2w. The same goes for most of the alternatives that have been suggested. If it will change the meta to something only those who buy the chapter can run, p2w.

I hope for a lot of questing some cool Altmer motifs, at least 2 sweet dungeons, and a full trial.

Spell and jewelry crafting, as well as a new class should be added eventually but they need to be part of the base game and need to be good.
