ya true but not as much as this one. Prior to 2010 people stayed in MMO's for much longer periods. though they had smaller pop bases due to premium payment models. ESO has the most churn of any game ive ever played. there is very little retention just more new people recycling through the turnstyle. Its a large reason the end game community is non existent now, when it used to thrive there was constantly pugs for normal and Vr trials and honestly more dungeons going on with out a group finder then their are now with one. In EQ 2 you could have logged in for a month at launch left and returned in 2008 and found a lot of your friends list still playing and launch guilds still working the raid progression. not one person i knew out of 500 is sill playing and ive refreshed my friends list and been part of at least 35 different guilds here that no longer exist.
People always leave for the newest, hyped game. That doesn't mean anything. I still remember in 2014, when people were saying that Wildstar would destroy ESO and steal all their players.. Good old times.
