the question is, why are the balance devs so scared of making strong changes then being shy about tweaking things that were overtuned earlier then next dlc drop?
before anyone points out i know true balance isnt possible, the scales exist for a reason so that game is never stale but the changes are always so small and so rare its no wonder people get bored

edit: i mean game wise not just combat

Changes are always so small? How long have you been playing for?

I think the changes are too huge they go way over board with nerfing or buffing

zos are to put it bluntly clumsy and heavy handed with their balancing. they once compared their approach to a golf game- shots toward the hole , incrementally closer. if they continually tweaked each week with their maintenances- slight changes and adjustements here and there- then yes- i woudl accpet their analagy and it would be apt.

however they will bluntly nerf and buff things - and only seldomly,- BG s has cp. BGs has no cp. Bgs has cp again.
    - half this set. quarter this set. double it again.
    - add 30 cp.
    - aoe caps removed. aoe caps added. aoe caps removed.

their approach is more akin to trying to hit a target - not with an arrow but with a steaming drippy and not altogether solid, turd of dog excrement- flung from an effite throwing action .

welcome to balance by you know who. ive been warned about being too critical, so i cant name names- its like voldemort.

Because every major balance change they made was pretty negatively received, and usually for good reason.

Big thing about to hit is the tripling of block cost for tanks, in addition to a hefty extension to the cooldown of unique synergies (aka Shards and Orbs aka those things that help tanks sustain). Off balance uptime is being reduced drastically for honestly no clear reason, their comment didn't say jack about why they felt slashing the uptime for coordinated groups was a good idea.

Another recent big change was the 5-piece requirements on armor abilities, made to destroy PvP heavy armor dps builds.

If we had more "big balance changes" people would start dropping the game

Changes are small? The smallest number ZOS knows when it comes the nerfing/buffing is at least 20%. In fact I think that is the whole problem with ESOs balancing: Changes are too big and too many at once instead of subtle and more frequent tweaks.

And on the point of being demanding or entitled: We as costumers pay for this game, so we have every right to express our opinions and while ZOS does not have to listen to us, it is wise for them to do so.

What do you consider small changes, normally the smallest tweek will have the largest impact to things like PvP

Gotta agree with others, changes tend to be too much normally. We saw Stam DK go from perhaps the best PvP class to the worst in a single patch through the destruction of its passives, nerf to heavy armor, nerf to sustain and (to a lesser extent) Black Rose set.
