Stam Warden or Stamblade PvE dps?

I currently have a stamden that I love and I'm gearing/leveling up my PvP Stamblade for end game PvE. However, I'm not really liking the Stamblade rotation/survivability when compared to my stamden. But I've read that stamblades are good for end game trials whereas stamdens are not (or at least perform worse than other stam classes).

Is this true? As much as I like my stamden I don't want to be underperforming by a lot then by just using a Stamblade. But if the difference is small then I'll just stick to my stamden and hope no one cares lol.

I’d wait until tomorrow’s patch notes to make this decision
    PC NA - @dazkt - Dazk Ardoonkt / Sir Thogalot / Dask Dragoh’t / Dazk Dragoh’t / El Thogardo

Barring tomorrow's patch, the biggest complaint about wardens is they lack DPS in high end PvE. Everything else they do well. Stamblade currently stands head and shoulders above them as far as PvE DPS but yes his survivability is much less in most cases.

So there really is that big of a difference then? Assuming the patch notes change nothing here, is there a reason why stamdens perform that poorly? I know they don't have the best passives but I'd be surprised if that's all there is for them underperforming.

Stamden does not lack DPS in endgame, because it is a stamina spec, thus relying on a majority of commonly used tools with other stamina specs. Any optimized stamina spec can go well over 60k single target in a proper raiding environment.

They also provide large amounts of AoE with Sub. Assault and help the group dealing with adds, as it applies Major Fracture / breach to all those that the healers and tanks don't have time to deal with. For less experienced players, they also have an easier access to healing and major brutality and savagery to save on crafted potions.

You can play it pretty much like you would with a stam DK, and use sub. assault instead of Venomous claw and Breath / FoO. Stamden has a bad reputation mostly because of magicka warden, which - it is true - is currently the worst performing magicka DD spec.

I was thinking of stamden being a ranged stam dps, as they have sub assault and cutting dive as ranged options, plus they have a self burst heal and ice fortress for surviability. Too bad birds and beetles are the most hated skills in the game and therefore will not see any buffs. I wish bowden as a whole would be buffed pve wise

This line of thought was what I was thinking too. Because of how similar stamina classes are their dps differences shouldn't be too severe. However, post after post many people bash on Wardens for their dps performance. While it's explained for magdens, their hatred for stamdens receive little to no validation or criticism, at least from what I have seen (which is a lot of posts). Assuming the patch notes change nothing, is it fair to say that stamdens are as viable for end game trials as other stam classes (or at least close)?

Stam Warden's skills look like they can be used for a ranged style dps, however, like magden, it is far behind other classes for dps sadly :(
