Do ZOS employees play on console?

Ive heen playing on Xbox One since launch and have never seen the 'Z' icon. I'm curious as to whether or not anyone has ever seen a ZOS employee on Xbox or PS4. How can you possibly recognize and fix problems without a significant amount of live server gameplay?

I've never seen a gamemaster on Xbox NA nor has anyone I know ever seen one. Although I'm sure they can hide their gamemaster status even though I don't think they should do that.

If there are any on console then I wish they would speak up and tell their superiors what state the game is in on console platforms. Especially in Cyrodiil.

They're extremely rare to be seen anywhere in-game since they switched from mandatory subscription to optional. Before they would show up right next to you if it were a serious problem. Now its all automated mail, they almost never show up in game anymore unless its to announce a zone/server wide message.

ZOS employees definitely do play on console. Their identities are a secret though for obvious reasons. You might have run across them in PvE or in a random dungeon without even knowing it

Well, you'll only see the Z thing on gamemasters and the like, not on someone that is just a dev playing on an account - several of them have accounts and play on them, I've seen them in pvp, but you'd have to know who they are I guess, not like it says they work for Zenimax or use their real names. As for console, I don't play there, so I have no idea if any have their own accounts there.

No but they have stealth mode

@Vaoh How crazy would it be to run into 1 of them while doing a veteran daily through group finder, and they were actually the DPS with a “bow build”; spamming Snipe and light attacks. Lmao. The whole time we are ranting and raging about this individual, and little do we know it’s actually like a member of the combat team.

If I remember correctly there was an article about One Tamriel where one of the developers talked about letting his son use his Xbox copy to play. (And then decided to play with him and found out they couldn't because they were in different alliances.)

I don't think a lack of GMs in-game counts for much though. They're very rarely seen, even on the PTS. (I think the notification on the loading screens about how GMs always have the Z after their name is mainly there so players can't try to pretend they're GMs.)

Apparently they can hide their GM status, and may have separate accounts for checking things out when working and for actually playing. (I know GMs in other games do this - mainly so when they're playing normally they don't get mobbed by people demanding changes/free gold/special treatment.)

Millions of test hours go into play testing before any game\patch is even spoke of on a pts so i would assume yes, they have extensively played it on console. I would say the console version is probably closer to the developers original idea of minimalistic gameplay without addons than pc.

As far as identifying issues and bugs, I guarantee you they are aware, sometimes there just isn't a realistic fix. Time vs money vs reality.

We know ZOS devs DO play on console, they can even be found on XBox EU. A couple of years ago, about 6 months after the game released on Xbox, I was in cyrodiil in a large group and happened to comment in voice chat how one of the fort guild ownerships had bugged out and could not be changed. Within 10 minutes, it had been cleared and was able to be reclaimed, so someone in our voice chat was one of the devs. We had suspicions for the longest time about an American guy that would join us very regularly and he had even hinted that ZOS was only a 30 minute drive from his house. Everytime we asked him, he would deny it.

But if they're a Myth. Who tells there Stories? Only reason as to why and When Myth becomes a Legend and Legend becomes a Myth. Is because ZOSare Both Heroes and Heroine's of Old! No they do not exist on PS4 na I've played since PS4 release and have never seen one I've seen tons of bots tho on PS4 na that I've reported lots of times bots do exist tho lol

I don't understand why people think consoles are having it worse than pc that was out 1 year b4 consoles... guys im gona say this again, your consoles are not special...the game is having the same issues on all platforms so stop tagging the general issues to your platform.

With all due respect unless you play on Xbox you truly have no idea how bad it is. I wish I could get a ZoS employee to sit with me for one day as I play just so they could see what I experience. How many little bugs I encounter, how many crashes I have, how many times I have to re-log in Cyrodiil. They would be blown away.

Your wrong! Some issues are worst on the consoles and they should be noted. I think they are special to the anyone who has paid for one and the live or plus fee just to play. The pc has many issues noted in general rather often.

Why even comment if you don't own a console and don't know of the issues first hand. I am on every platform. I still love doing my dailies, socializing with friends, and PvP there are differences some worst more then others. This is why there are forums to help fix these problems, so post away

I still can’t get over the fact that people were visiting a zone that they paid for as bonus content (Orsinium DLC), and legit would have their characters stuck there. That’s crazy. How as a developer do you relax and manage to put on a smile, knowing that 1 of the platforms that your game is on is having such extremes endured that they can’t visit a piece of content, without character lock-up and freeze? How? That is either negligence to the form of cruelty, or just flat-out insanity.
