So it looks like another case of "good not great" dying. And I'm not a fan of how the channels block out in the fancier costume (the undyed sandals, in particular).
So there's a lot going on here. Obviously with the stripe effect the specific intent is to be lighter-colored in some areas, so that's expected and fine. But on the basic costume everything is just lighter and lower-quality for color to begin with. Like come on. That ain't black. The tier 2 costume dyes more richly, except, somehow, for Julianos white, which is now yellowish and grody I guess.
The second costume obviously takes dyes better overall than the first, but we're still seeing some familiar problems, like color shifting and vast undyeable areas like the arm bands, giant neck pieces, and sandal things. For the first point, I can't stress enough that if I wanted a dye color shifted I would just choose a dye which is that color to begin with. I don't like colors behaving weirdly, I don't like them taking on different tones when they get put on leather or different types of cloth, etc. Predictability is really important for me here. For the second point, I totally get it and I guess just hope that someday the dye system can get a "take two" and add a couple more dye slots where appropriate.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Can we please address this dying thing? Choosing red and they are showing as brown for example. How about do something to adjust the hue?
What is the deal with reds never actually being a true red?
IDK, they ought to take a page out of whatever handbook they were using when they were making some of the Imperial costumes. The lowest-tier ones aren't perfect, but the majority of them are just phenomenal.

I agree with what has been said already. Overall I love the styles of the costumes, and the colors I dyed mine suit how the dyes are taken by these particular costumes (silvenar green and hunding gold on the 500 crown version, and indoril blue and covenant fisher blue on the 700 crown version)
here are some other colors that I tested:
500 crown
LIGHT COLORS
Welkynd blue
Provisioner brown
Transliminal violet
DARK COLORS
Coldharbor ash black
Smuggler violet
Transliminal violet
Its bad when you feel you have to wait for others to buy a costume, dye it and put a screen shot up before you consider buying said costume due to knowing Zos's nature of making costumes that dont dye well. Kinda gettin old. I bought these without waiting (against my own gut, I usually wait) and ofc we've got the leg distortion with one and both dye, esp rare colors, like crap. Figures right! lol
