Outfit weapon dyes

Hey guys quick question. Do you need to have the motif page learned for the weapon you’re carrying in order to dye it?

If you are already wearing it no. You just cant change the LOOK of the weapon to an unknown motif style. You can dye whatever you're wearing to your hearts content.
