Gives us some incentive to use more destruction staff skills

I'm a magsorc, sometimes I wish I could experience fun, diverse, builds, from the usual meta or whatever (i'm not a crazy meta follower since I refuse to play with a high elf, because I don't like them, and I want to play with a race that I can relate to: Imperial, I'm italian/greek, so *tongue pop*...), but then it hit me that I feel kinda locked to use my sorc abilities over destro for example, since there's tons of passives that make us much more efficient by favoring sorc (and mages guild) abilities over destruction staff ones. I wish we could at least have something like mages guild passives that I don't feel guilty by using them (2% max magicka/2% magicka recovery for each, and such things...while destro passives doesn't give much).

From the destro passives, I think I would change the Penetrating Magic, to give something more stackable with the current effect.

With the lack of incentive, we usually see people running with the same build over the alternative, like liquid lightning over wall of elements, and such things

Not a bad idea, I do enjoy the little passives for slotting skills. I believe the passive for slotting Sorc skills is still bugged though, and only gives 2% of the spell damage from your staff (ignoring all other sources of spell damage, like enchants and sets).

I do want to point out that you should definitely use both liquid lightning AND wall of elements. Most builds also use destructive clench/reach OR crushing shock/force pulse. Elemental rage is essential, and elemental drain needs to be used by at least on person in a group. 4/6 destruction skills are pretty much required for a good magSorc build. Really only pulsar is neglected.

I agree but for all Magicka skills and staff. Wall of elements liquid lightning maybe crystal frags or another burst damage spell. That's it. You can maybe change it up on the type..flames or lifhting..big whoop. Thecrest are slotted for passives or pets. Mages are great characters but very very limited and a little boring after awhile.

Why IS Pulsar neglected? Seems useful for trash pulls but everyone always gives me the look any time i suggest it.

I use it on my ice tank for the debuff, works on some bosses.

From a meta perspective you're basically forced to have a destro staff skill on each bar because of the Ancient Knowledge passive. 8% extra single target or AoE damage depending on the type of staff is too good to pass up.

    Seriously?

Every single magicka dps build has Elemental Blockade. Every. Single. One. And nobody is using liquid lightning over wall, they use it along with wall.

With the AS staff there are loads of builds using Force Pulse now. Clench is also fairly common to see, especially on Sorcs and DKs.

Every decent healer slots Weakness to Elements.

So only Pulsar is left out of the meta at the moment and that's more because magicka builds never lack AoE damage so there is no need to go for more than a class AoE or 2 + Wall + Lightning Staff heavy attack.

The only reason I have a destro abilty slotted is because of the ancient knowledge passive. For whatever reason it requires me to have one slotted. Too me this hampers my bar set ups

I use that on my DK tank for initial agro...works great. Pulsar, Pulsar, Talons. Everyone AoE's and nothing moves.

They should make the attacks more interesting as well. When I use Vengeful Slam on my Sith Juggernaut it looks bad-ass, same with Hew. Aside from Dragon Leap I can't think of a single skill in eso that makes me feel the same way.

Pulsar is pretty underrated. It does something like reduce max health by 10% which is pretty good. Pretty sure it gives other buffs/bonus too. Also going to be great now AoE caps are going.
It even works well in pvp. Good against zergs, those that lock you in and run behind you. The ones that run back and forward. Its pretty great!

4 out of the 12 abilities slotted are from destruction staff on my sorc build, and on most. And it's not limited to sorc. I do not see your argument as we use plenty of destro staff abilities.

    1) Ulti (eye or storm) - Eye is used by basically most PVP mag dps except warden and storm by most but warden and DK. This may all change with the 40% reduction in area with this patch though. It is a very expensive ulti for that reduction.

    2) pulse / shock - Used by sorcs in PVP and PVE and many others (such as my mNB in vMA) situationally as a ranged spamable or interrupt.

    3) Clench - Widely used in PVP as a magica CC. Commonly used in PVE as a DOT especially by all DOT / Heavy builds with no spamables.

    4) Wall - Used by all PVE mag DPS and some PVP ball zerg groups.

    5) Eled - used by most PVE healers.

    6) Pulsar / ring - Ring is actually very popular for ranged PVP players that want to be able to do AOE and break up ball zergs. Pulsar is a little less common as many if not most PVE trials mobs are immune. It was more common when they were not. I remember back when NB's had a useful AOE in sap essence some would slot pulsar as well and pop it every once in a while.

Honestly, destro staff skills are some of the most used in game. There are some resto staff, and sword and board ones I don't even remember as well as NB and Templar ultis I forget. I may think clench should do a bit more damage and that the nerf to the ulti-radius many make it useless but you can't argue that currently all destro staff abilities are not well used.

I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

This says it all except that Elemental Rage is popular in PvE, it is the other morph of Eye of the Storm.

Dstaff has a great skill set.

I prefer using class skills. Stamina builds all use weapon skills, and so every class feels exactly the same.

How about a Spell Sword Skill line?
1h weapon and Magic in the other hand? People are asking for alternatives to staves

Also can we discuss the issue that the 3 elements of destruction have been separated between 3 classes as opposed to being one skill line called "Destruction"?

    Poor, lonely Pulsar.
A shell of its former glory
    Now, just a relic.

Haiku aside, Pulsar is still kind of helpful in Dungeon Trash pulls, just to shave off some of the enemy's health and make them easier to take down, granted most of them are a joke already.
