Is activity finder ever going to get some love?

Queue up for random and get mazzatun. I would complain about the cp190 tank or the cp260 dps but I can’t, because i never saw them. No, I spent the next six minutes getting the instance is full message every time I tried to port in.
How do I know it was 6 minutes you ask? Because when the tank went off line, the other two dropped group. Can’t vote to kick because there is no one left to vote. So I drop group and have a 9 minute penalty before I can queue again.
And what does one do when they are spending 9 minutes in the punish corner for no reason? Why, they make a post on the forums ofcorse.

Got the instance is full so can not enter once.Grinding just make you go in circles.

✭✭✭✭The group finder is so broken. Sometimes it'll put you in a phantom queue that'll never proc a queue. I know this because sometimes I'll be in a queue for a specific dungeon for 10-15 minutes and not get a queue, but if I drop the queue and re-queue for the same dungeon, I'll get a queue in a couple minutes. Also we still have to ready-up numerous times to get into a dungeon even if no one declines a ready check. This is easily tested and replicated by forming a group with 4 people and you will still get multiple ready checks. And as OP mentioned, sometimes you will get the "jump failed instance is full" message for a newly created instance and it takes multiple minutes to correct itself. Add that on top of the fact that it allows you to be paired up with CP 18 players in veteran dungeons who spam ambush and it's just an absolutely horrible tool.
Some of these bugs like the phantom queues have been affecting the finder since HOMESTEAD. That was almost 1 year ago.
They either lack the resources/capability to make the group finder work properly or just don't care that it's not working correctly. I can't think of any other logical explanation as to why it has been allowed to persist in this broken state for so long.Edited by Apache_Kid on January 13, 2018 8:59PM1 -

I've gotten this bug before on a newly created instance. All 4 people had just queued in and I was the only one who couldn't port in and was given this error message of the instance being full and had to wait 5 or so minutes before I could port in.0 -

That's neither here nor there. The complaint isn't about chat and finding a group therein, it's about a specific tool that sucks more often than not. It should be a lot less buggy that it is considering how long some of these issues have been around for. It's been implemented half arsed and it shows.

I started playing at 11am and couldnt find a group for 7 hours - i gave up at this point and simply went back to run those with guild members.PS4 EU - StamDK0 -

Not really. The guild trader does everything that a "WTS such-and-such for this price." does. The groupfinder, as complicated as it already is, does a specific set of tasks. It groups random players from certain roles or groups a re-made group with selected roles and moves them to the different dungeons, Battlegrounds, or groups in Cyrodiil
It is not an open-ended "Create Your Own Event" groupfinder.
Now, ZOS could add certain functionalities to the groupfinder, like Dragonstar Arena or trials. That would be a natural extension of what it already does with dungeons.
But creating an open-ended groupfinder to allow players to create their own event is a whole different thing. There you'll get much better functionality and a much better response from just typing "LFG for [event description]" in zone chat. Just think about the sheer amount of random events you'd have to sort through to find something you were interested in, how many people would post troll events, and so on. (Just think about how many messages you already ignore in zone chat because they don't interest you.)
I suspect that if ZOS can't fix the current groupfinder, they don't have a clue how to make a "create your own event" groupfinder. Moreover, I think it would quickly turn into an ungainly mess soon after launch that would be mostly useless in actual practice.0 -
Eyesinthedrk✭✭✭✭✭Queue into falkreath, jump failed instance is full. Try porting to each member with the same results. So I tried porting out of zone. Load into davons watch and I’m no longer in a group and I’ve got another 13 minutes in the punish corner.
I thought I’d spend that time doing another rant, but my rants over and I’ve stil got 7 more minutes. Guess I’ll go play fortnight1
