Racial Transmog?

Elder scroll series traditionally have 10 races and really there isn't any other races fit the story of vestige other than these 10 main tamrelic races, so adding more actual races is not really a good idea.

Buttttt those rare/extinct races are too cool to be ignored..
There should be options that "transmog" our appreances to races that are considered rare/extinct (without changing the actual racial passive), for example:
Mer: Falmer, Maormer, Dwemer, Chimer, Sinister mer, Ayleids
Men: Kothingi, Akaviri (Tho atmoran and nedes are also important past men race, they look way too similar to nords/imperials to have reason to transmog)
Beastfolk: Imga, Minotaur, Lilmothiit, Sload?

Also of course other akaviri races: Ka Po' Tun, Kamal, Tang Mo, and Tsaesci
Annnnnd all sorts of humanoid daedra

Make them quests in chapters/ dlcs to seek out those rare races' last members and/or their blood and/or their record of how do they look like etc, and transmog to their appearances

A lilmothiit polymorph would be amazing
    Hoping for more playable races

A guar or netch polymorph would be very cool.

    Those are called polymorphs.
A better way of exploring those races would be through ruins and motifs

The current polymorph system would need some more customization option to become a good system tho

Polymorphs for extinct races would be quite possible. Those are basically nothing but illusion disguises after all - and if we can wear an draugr illusin, we can do others as well.

Agreed. And perhaps even the occasional "flashback" quest, like we got in various corners of tamriel... just how many placed through the chimer/nede battle flashback, and started wondering if maybe someday we might get to see the dwemer in their prime, or the falmer strugging against the atmoran invaders, or the all-flags navy doing battle with the sload... or... or...?

By the way, Kothringi and Lilmothiit only died out twenty years before the time of ESO. So... there -could- still be some living and uncursed/skeletized ones around in some corner of tamriel, or oblivion... mush like we met the last ayleid king. And there IS one dwemer, somewhere, busy searching for his disappeared people (without much success as we hear from him centuries later in TES:Morrowind)

Maormer on the other hand... could very well become a playable race someday, much like imperials. Theyi are in the game, they are going stronmg, they have their crafting style... just whip up a set of passies, something for seagoing, stormloving elves, and slap it into the crownstore together with an "pyandonea" expansion sometime...
Same goes for the akaviri races, the last invasion was a mere ten years before ESO, and it is not inconcievable some of that ill-fated army survived and escaped - actually, we know from the lore they did, met up with other akaviri descendants around rimmen and will make an unsuccessful push for the imperial throne in a century or two...
The imga are -supposed- to be around as well...
And there are a few other likely candidates for more crown-unlock races someday. Reachmen (if they decide those are a bit different from bretons, which they might) and Goblins...

Reachmen and imga are by far the most likely to become playable in A elderscrolls game at some point, but probably not eso.

The imga actually SHOULD be present in valenwood in eso, but apparently the Dev's were too lazy to add them, and made an excuse that they ran away to escape the alliance war. Pffffft.

Goblins could very easily be taught to act civilized, but the chances of any of the other races actually taking them serious is slim to none.

There is however hope in polymorphs. The goblin gem is proof it can be done without being lore breaking, since you're not actually that race, it's just a "morph" wink wink.

My main orc character is actually designed to be a goblin 24/7. I renamed him a gobliny name, and made him fully poison and disease based because I felt that's what goblins would be using. As far as in concerned, in playing as a goblin. As far as the game and lore is concerned, in playing as an orc with a magic disguise.

I would love to see race polymorphs be more built upon than just the goblin, and dragur if you count it. It would be pretty cool.
