Is buying from a bot/goldseller (in game) against TOS

So earlier this morning there was a person who wanted to buy from a bot/goldseller in game . After finding one with a throw away gamer tag that you get when you make a Xbox account , he (calling this person a bot, fully aware it wasn’t legit) bought items off of the person . Is this against TOS to do that in game ? It brought up the discussion after he was bragging about it in zone chat that his gear would now be gold thanks to the bot . Do we report people who do this ? Or just the bots/sellers?

Report it. If people stopped buying from these accounts. Hopefully they'd stop being made/used because Zos doesn't seem to be proactive in dealing with them.

Goldseller profits go into some very nasty criminal activities outside of Tamriel. Please avoid them and report them.

I really can't stand people like this. Just play the game like the rest of us. Bots are a nuisance. Cheaters have no self-respect. Bots exist because of the people that use their services.

Bots can't exist without buyers to fuel them. Report the buyer and help stop the bots.

Given ZOS runs many cash to gold conversion schemes itself, as well as other RMTs, it most likely views that as legitimate business activity. Though unlike bot operators, it puts some fraction of profit back into the game, for example as salaries for its addictologists and monetization experts.

Another question, is it against the ToS to join in on bot bear/wolf farming? That is, if you see someone running around with bots farming leather scraps, are they reportable?

Oh, and do you think there could ever be a bot police? Players who ride around and negate these kinds of people? For some type of compensation? In game or in crowns?

if you give them some kind of compensation other than a basic salary for time spent doing it, they would technically be bounty hunters, not really police

not that that's a deal-breaker - I'm just sayin'...

No. It is not against the ToS to farm bears and wolves.

That said, if you hang around bots, you are likely to get reported as one.

But No. Its not to buy from them. Because it doesnt go like "Hello, im a bot, would you like to buy my dirty wares?". Its just some random guy selling goods at the price he sees fit. How do I know he is a bot? I used to sell 200 tannins I gathered for the long time when the prices went up, am I a bot now?

Buying from gold sellers is also against terms of service. It is using and buying (from a third party for real money which makes it already illegal)an exploited in-game resources, made illegaly either by botting software or cheating and no, obviously selling stacks is not against TOS, it is silly to think so.
As I said, even if it was gold made legally, buying it or selling is not because you buy/sell it for real cash. You probably just missinterpreted what gold buying/selling is
