Its time ZOS fixed the pets by writ turn in locations

It seems I cannot go a day without being forced to ask someone to move their Warden bear so I can turn in a writ. Its not just the bear, it just seems its more often the bear that blocks me from interacting with the turn in boxes. I understand people like their pets. My issue is with the fact they block interactions with things. Its better than it was in the beginning but its only half way fixed.

If I'm not the only one around I dismiss pets. Seems like the courteous thing to do and it's no bother to resummon.

No need to for pets at Writ turn in, Merchant or Banker. Would love to see pets deactivate in these town locations.

While they are at it, fix it so the Pet Merchant and banker stores in Combat. No use for them being out while you are running around in a fight. To my mind it's an exploit in PvP to have them to decrease the chance of being targeted., so changing it this way would solve that issue as well.

I think the bulk of the issues are because slotted pets automatically activate on login. If they changed it to have to knowingly activate your pets before combat, I think we would see a huge reduction in cities. Especially for writs, which are often the first thing people do when they log on.

    Pets 'should' be transparent.

Twilights, clannfears, and pack wolves too. :)

It's pretty irritating. It's a problem pretty much anywhere: bankers, crafting stations, writ turn-in places, doors...My recent fav was being one of about 6 players trying to interact with Breda to get/turn in New Life Festival quests because someone's stoopid bear was blocking everyone else from interacting with her.

What's most irritating is there's no need for people to have their combat pets out in these locations and ZOS needs to do something about it, for this reason, Find some way to automatically suppress them or make them transparent in these areas, because for every 1 player who will dismiss their pet, there's 12 who can't be bothered.

I think the game should 'disable' visibility of pets in these locations rather than asking people to 'dismiss' them. If I am doing my daily undaunted but going to the merchant or bank in between delves to clear inventory, I should not have to put it away and then re spawn it before I enter the next delve (which I would always forget to do).

It does annoy me when someone has 1 or 2 combat pets, maybe a non combat pet out, maybe their banker and/or merchant following them around in town as well. Seeing someones banker following them into the bank - how stupid is that?

What I find more annoying than any of the above is the incessant dueling going on near traders, main town wayshrines and crafting areas. I'll accept a ban on pets in these areas if they also prevent dueling in these areas.

they need to fix pets, period. right now pet control is a pain. its barely existent. we need ACTUAL pet control. being able to put them on passive, defensive, or aggressive, tell them to go to a specific spot and STAY there, etc. right now... there is a keybind that is incredibly obscure that tells your pet to stop attacking, an action that is immediately nullified the moment you heavy attack, because heavy attack + pet go attack this thing.

pets being constantly in a way whenever you do anything? is an icing on this crap cake.

We need better pest control, I mean pets control.

There are pets everywhere, bears, clannfears, and that huge flapping medusa on wings. On top of the actual non combat pets.

At quest locations, at holiday NPCs, at writ locations, at the bank, at the merchant, every friggin where.

I'm fed up with having to angle my camera in some obscure and uncomfortable angle just to be able to reach my target object or NPC.

Pets need work - pets should have their own abilities which could be on a pet bar and / or keybound (attack, defensive, passive, follow, stay, dismiss), as well as should not be able to block interacting with objects (outside of PVP combat).

On one hand, despite being a 1st world problem, I agree that pets are intrusive AF. They're in your face, you can't control where they decide to park their butts out of combat, and they do block access to stuff (bankers, merchant, writs, quest givers, etc).

On the other hand, pets are often used defensively in many instances, even used as LoS devices in some cases, so removing player collisions will be catastrophic for these play styles.

Non combat pets, yeah, sure, but combat pets need to have collisions. Wouldn't just be easier to hide them when the player is close to certain areas (e.g. writs crates, bank, near a quest giver) similar to what happens when you jump in the water ?

I don't often use pets but if I do I disable them in every town.

Same for bound aegis etc. - don't like the auto activation thing that was made some time ago. Never had issues resummoning stuff.

It can take longer to dismiss and spawn the combat pet than it does to just get in there, drop off the writ, and leave.

Anyway, the real problem is that these 'green' pets have too much priority in the game. We cannot interact with them, but they block things that are behind them. The person who said they should be transparent is close to right. We should be able interact with anything that is behind them, even if we can't see it.

The Merchant and Banker cannot be summoned in Cyrodiil, so at the very worst, it would only be an issue in duels.

I would have bought them both the day they came out if I could use them to vendor trash in delves in Cyro.

If you need a pet for that quest, then the game needs to force you out of pets more often. Skill restrictions like that are how people learn to play. So, to me that's a plus.

      @Taleof2Cities

If a Sorcerer cannot kill those mobs without pets then ZOS can nerf the quest for all I care. Heck, set the mobs to 1 health if they have to.

It would be worth it to not have those annoying flapping wings in my face every time I want to talk to a banker

Same for those Brigands in Wayrest.

Yup, one of the most irritating things in this game are those damn Twilight Matriarchs when you're at a vendor or trying to interact with anything. Very invasive.

If someone has the audacity to say something or ask them nicely to deactivate them, more morons come a long and purposely activate their Twilight Matriarchs. It's the maturity of some people. Do everything they can to irk others. It was the same when people would purposely set up the jubilee cake in dungeons.
