Should ZOS try and make taverns relevant?

If Tamriel were a real place, taverns (and the upstairs brothels) would be the go to hang out place. As it is now, there is no real reason to hang out in a tavern. Everyone just hangs out by wayshrines and undaunted.

Should they make taverns more relevant? If so how would you suggest they do it?

Taverns, like any other place yes, they are as relevant as you wish to make them.

A place to meet, to do business, to dance unashamedly yes.

Also this one has the head office of The Bank of Khajiit in a room at The Rosy Lion. Convenient for business, food and cheap booze.

A music system, like Khajiit recalls from travels elsewhere, would be a very good thing for parties of all kinds in all places and a great way to bring travellers together but this one does expect such a thing to ever happen.

Getting World boss Dailys in every zone and picking them up in taverns. While at it to not disturb the chat, bringing in dashboards where you can find groups that opened up for a boss mission. Like in Monster Hunter.

Idk tbh Maybe like asking for rumors like in Skyrim and Oblivion and getting refered to missions in the zone (although nobody would stand in the tavern for that).

Ehh, but most of all I think it shouldn't be forced just to get people filling up a (small btw) room.

I hardly ever see any RP's in taverns. Where do they hang out?

In LOTRO, people would hang out at The Prancing Pony playing their instruments and making the place seem alive.

The tavern in Divinity's Reach in GW2 was also a hive for RP'ers.

SWG had the best social experience because tavens were huge part of the game. Player could be dancers etc and would give you a 2h buff for watching them. ESO should have a bard system like that. Also add fist fighting and mini games.

They should implement a type of legends card game like they did with witcher! :D:D , but taverns is where we roleplayers usually hang out for various rp events.

    ...are Bretons then mongrels,or paragons?
    The answer,of course,is both(though if you call a Breton
a mongrel,he is liable to feed you an inch or two of steel).
The passionate race of Bretons embodies the strengths
of both men and mer-as well as there flaws.

You know they can make idiotic request like that, and you can link them the mute addon and suggest they use it.

Let's all go way back in the before time when EQ was in beta, the Thespian gamers (which believe it or not are even more irritating than Thespian forum posters) in the beta whined about the taverns being used for RP (The original plan was to make them quest hubs and meeting places to form groups) Well anyone that has ever played EQ even back in it's heyday know just how dead taverns were. They cried for it basically got it and no one end up using it.

I say make them more utilitarian and not just for a few peacocks to live out their acting fantasies.

Vulkwasten has an outdoor tavern that seems to be consistently popular. Riften often has groups outside the tavern (not sure about inside), but watch out for ERP mistells. There's a guild that does popup concerts - I've mostly seen them in Wrothgar.

Before I owned a home I always used to log off in the room of taverns, like I had rented a room. I thought that was pretty cool until I entered the Tavern in Riften. Innocence was lost on this day.

Interesting, I rarely see RP in taverns. Guess I'm never there at the right time, lol. The RPers who act like asses should be told that they are being asses, plain and simple, and that is coming from an RPer.

Ah yes, taverns. They should make them larger so there can be at least 4 player home rooms in each.

There should also be taverns not in the city just along the road somewhere.

Guilds should be able to have a tavern guild base which is open to others, so if people come by and walk into the tavern they can be greeted by the guild and possibly become a member. That would probably stop a lot of the guild spamming in chat (well maybe not, spammers gonna spam).

I've noticed during quests involving drinking there are visual effects for getting drunk, yet (correct me if im wrong) when you drink self brewed alcoholic drinks there are none. It would be sweet to hit up the tavern, brew or buy drinks for the mates and get sloshed. maybe even trigger the drunk or throwing up emote.

Also it would be sweet if there were poster boards like writ turn ins maybe tucked in the corner, where you can post your own group invites. I know most/many will stick with the tried and true chat method, but for the shier or more role player type players, it would be a cool way to find groups of adventurers.
