What was your first class? Just curious to see what people started with. I know it may be a ways back for some of you, since this game as been out for so long.

Yes I count the betas, please vote based on your VERY first class, because even playing beta sways your choices, I'm curious to see what people picked solely when they did not know what they were doing.

Coming from Oblivion/Skyrim, ESO being my first MMO, I had no idea about its classes. I chose what seemed to best fit my preferred Skyrim playstyle (Wood Elf sniper archer).

If you count the betas then Nightblade, but Templar is what I settled on when I actually got the game.

In single-player TES games my main character uses destruction and restoration magic along with bladed weapons and medium/light armour. Templar seemed like the closest match to that.

Since Morrowind was released I've re-created my 2nd main character as a Warden because its the closest fit for what I normally play in other RPGs.

Mine was sorcerer which turned out well, since I didn't know anything about the classes before choosing and I wanted that character to be a destro lightning caster. My main for the past year though is my templar-third character.

Actually, no... My first class was a DK that I leveled to 4 before deleting it and making a Nightblade and a Sorc.

I have played and finished cadwell's silver and gold on a DK Tank back in the time you still ahd to upgrade your characters towards v16.

After half a year I made a magicka templar heal/dd, which eventually focussed on damage more then healing, which is still my main.

Nightblade

My first character (and still my main) was a nightblade. I just knew I wanted to create a vampire and the nightblade class was the only one that screamed "vampire" to me.

Previously, I had always played the sneaky archer, or the line archer, more than any other character in the other TES games, as well as fantasy games in general.

I just wanted to try something different.

I started two months after ESO launched, and I wanted a battlemage. Heavy armor, weapons, and magic. Naturally it was a hybrid, but not in the terms we know hybrids now.

At some point right at 1.6, i ended up turning him into a stamina sorcerer, back when they were still laughed at. More of a spellblade archetype, buffing your martial skills with magic rather than wielding it more directly in tandem, but stam sorc was the single most fun class mutation I had ever played.

It's still my favorite, even if my main is a full-fledged homegrown bomb sorc now.

Day 1 created DK to play heavy armor, S&B tank style game play. I found out the hard way that back then the only option for all classes was light armor resto/destro. That DK has been a crafting alt ever since heh. Thank goodness armor and weapon changes have come over time

I played an AD Nightblade in Beta. For launch, I decided to play EP instead but created a Templar by mistake. Somehow, I didn't realize this until level 4(!)

I decided that I did not prefer Bleakrock Isle, so when I made my NB, I switched back to AD. This would later become an impactful decision when I became a PVP enthusiast. My EP Templar remains at the top of my character list at level 4.

Fine was a nightblade in beta ...but didn't even make to lvl 10

P.S was going be nightblade live but switching races in creator defaults you to sorc. So I rolled with it like destiny. But come on can you imagine a world where tasear wasn't a sorc?

Templar

I knew from the start I wanted to be a khajiit healer and templar seemed like the best choice, so that's what I did.

Shortly after, i wanted to be a werewolf khajiit healer XD, which is what my first character ended up to be. Though of course werewolf isn't great on a magicka build which I found out soon after, then she became my crafter for equipment.

My new main is now a stamina templar werewolf khajiit.

Prolly. My first and main is a Khajiit nb. I have 3 other nbs, all cp level. I think I need a 5th, an Argonian magblade.

Played the last beta weekend, tested all 4 classes to level 10, decided on stamina nightblade DW/bow. Rolled with that for 2 years.

Now I have 14 chars at max level and no main any longer, just play what I'm in the mood for...
