Dragon Bones House Storage Questions

After the announcement of Dragon Bones, I've definitely been drawn back into the game. The housing storage being one of the main reasons.

A few questions regarding the housing storage:

- Will there be an option to allow other players (members of guild) to store items in storage chests in your own house that you use as a guild hall? Or can house owners designate a storage chest for someone else to use?
- Will storage chests be bound if bought from crown store or when they are acquired?
- Can players own more than one storage chest and what will their capacity be?

I understand some of these questions may not have an answer just yet, but if anyone has any insight, that would be great. Thanks.

    1. No, only you can access your own storage chests.
    2. All crown items are bound.
    3. We can have 4 coffers that are 30 items, and 4 chests that are 60 items. They are collectibles so they are shared across all houses.

    • I don't think anything has been said regarding others using storage chests, correct me if i'm wrong.
    • Everything bought in the crown store is bound, so yeah.
    • You can own up to 8 storage chests iirc, 4 large and 4 small. Each large one is 60 slots, each small one is 30 for a total of 360 extra storage spaces.

    No.

Not yet known. Speculation is that storage bought from crown store will be bound, but those bought with master writs or tel var will be tradeable.

There are 8 different chests (the same number as the maximum number of furnishing slots in a large house with eso plus double capacity). You can have 1 of each. There are 2 sizes, 4 small ones (capacity of 30) and 4 big ones (capacity 60). So the total capacity of all of the chests is 360. Chests are account bound, so putting the same chest in different houses will let you access the contents from elsewhere and will not give you extra storage.

Thanks a lot for the info. It is a bit of a shame that other players can't store their own storage chests in a guild hall and use their own one, but perhaps maybe one day we will see that. Its still great that they finally introduced storage.

There really does need to be more functional management to use homes as guild halls. Including allowing usage of player furniture not just owner furniture and shared npc/storage etc...

When you guys say 30 items, is that 30 items, or 30 stacks of items? Will a container hold 30 rough planks, or 6,000 (30 stacks of 200) rough planks?

Prolly stacks. Dont see it changing from how it sits in your pack or bank.

I wish it was a single chest that could be upgraded. Having one chest with 360 possible slots would have been nice. Having to run around my house and look in 8 different chests trying to remember where I put that certain item sounds tedious and annoying.

There is no guild housing in ESO. Spending real money on furnishings for your guildmaster's own housing instance does not legally create a communal ownership. Your guildmaster could leave tomorrow and all those items would be his or hers alone. And as there are far fewer protections for digital goods/services and there would be zero evidence of theft, you'd be at a complete loss.

And people complain about crown crates. No, "guild housing" is the real gamble.

They were confirmed on ESO Live as being unusable for anyone in your house but you.

7 of them can be purchased from the Master Writ vendor (Rolis' new assistant) and Tel Var vendors:

3 storage coffers (30 slots each): 100 writ vouchers or 100,000 tel var
4 storage chests (60 slots each): 200 writ vouchers or 200,000 tel var

As of the most recent PTS patch, the 4th storage coffer is now ONLY AVAILABLE through the level-up advisor at Level 18. If all your characters are past that level, you have to either delete a character or purchase an additional character slot. Unless, of course, they decide to make it purchasable with Crowns. I believe the other 7 will be available from the Crown store, so probably that 8th one, which will be free to most people, will also be for sale there.

On PTS they are in the count for "Collectible Furnishings" - so the same slots as trophies.

Is there a limit to how many storage containers one can purchase, or can you keep buying them until all the Collectible Furnishings slots in all your houses are filled?

There's a limit for them. Somewhere around 4 or 6 for big and then 4 or 6 for small, something like that.

You can rename them so it makes it easier to remember what you put in them. And yes you can put an entire stack of something in a chest and it only counts as one 1 slot, just like your inventory or your bank.

They said they were going to reduce the cost of vouchers for the chests but they didn't for the last PTS patch. I hope they decide to still do it.

I also hope they decide to revert their decision to remove the Level 18 reward storage coffer from the writ vendor/tel var merchant. It was originally available to purchase off of them, but last week's patch removed it so it's now only available for free to those who still have either an open character slot or a character below level 18. Everyone else (mostly long-time players) will have to either fork over 1500 crowns for another character slot or delete years of hard work/effort.

Well this is very limited. Would have made it feel worth it, even with only 2 chests per house, if each house had a different inventory. It's basically a bank extension from what I've been reading. And than taking up collectible slots, so no monster trophies if you want chests. This is a let down.
