On Stam dk what are the best results on a 3mil dummy

I tried alcast build and was only hitting 32-34k. This is with barely any penetration. I have yet to try a dummy test with twice fang and hundings. I do not have twice fang daggers so Hundings is only on front bar. Hopefully when I get some Sunderflame daggers or twicefang daggers I can hit 40k+ on the dummy.

You should do more than 8K simply doing heavy attack with no skills so your result looks pretty dubious :)

Gear is not that important but to fully make use of Spriggan or TFS you must have that set on both bars, meaning jewels and 2 armor pieces. Otherwise you'll lose the 5th piece as you bar swap and your skills will do much less damage when you're on the back bar. Also using swords is not ideal, since those add 5% to your damage, while having 2 daggers will add 10% to your critical damage. Critical damage is 1.50 x normal damage, so they will add 5% with no CP in Precise Strikes or other modifiers. In PvE monsters do not have any sort of critical resistance so critical damage fully applies. With 56 CP in Precise Strikes you have 0.20 bonus, Rearming Trap gives another 0.10, and Aggressive Warhorn gives 0.15, but you won't have 100% uptime on that so 0.10-0.12 is more typical in a trial group with 3-4 people using that skill. If you play solo you won't have access to that skill so let's just consider the others. Critical hits will do 1.80x normal damage even without warhorn. So your 10% critical chance from Twin Blade and Blunt will translate to about 9% more damage done in longer fights. Compare that to just 5% from swords.

So I recommend crafting Hunding daggers and 3 body pieces. Best traits are Nirnhoned with poison enchant main hand and Precise off-hand with berserker enchant; the main hand will proc more often, and also the weapon damage from Nirnhoned will be fully taken into account. As for monster sets, there are 3 which give pretty good results: Spawn of Mephala or Velidreth give good cleave damage (I think Velidreth has a small edge), and Kra'gh for pure single target especially when not at the penetration cap. Velidreth is a bit hard to get since vCoS is not the easiest dungeon, but the other 2 are quite easy to obtain.

    A typical bar setup:

Front: Noxious Breath | Venom Claw | Rending Slashes | Deadly Cloak | Rearming Trap || Flawless Dawnbreaker
Back: Poison Injection | Razor Caltrops | Endless Hail | Flames of Oblivion | Molten Armaments || Standard of Might

    and rotation:
Flames of Oblivion -> LA -> Endless Hail -> LA -> Razor Caltrops -> LA -> Poison Injection -> bar swap -> HA -> Noxious Breath -> HA -> Venom Claw -> HA -> Rending Slashes -> HA -> Deadly Cloak -> HA -> Rearming Trap [repeat]

Drink [Essence of Weapon Power] potion and refresh as soon as it's on cooldown (be sure to have 3/3 Alchemy:Medicinal Use). Buff with Molten Armaments and cast every 2nd rotation, cast Standard of Might as soon as it's full.

Following this basically guarantees at least 30K DPS. With practice you can hit 37-40K.

    Alright, so.

I'm not a StamDK pro, but stamina rotations are pretty much all similar.

You want to apply all your dots from the bow bar, which should all be the same (Poison Injection, Endless Hail, Caltrops, Trap). Ideally you want to Light Attack weave when you're on your bow bar.

When you swap to the DW bar, you want to Heavy Attack weave instead, and apply your class dots (Venomous Claws, Noxious Breath) and your DW dots (Rending Slashes, Deadly Cloak).

When you're done with that, swap bar, repeat.

You want to make sure to use Poison Injection as your last dot from your bow bar, and swap cancel it.

Here's a reference for "weaving" and "swap canceling". These are very important techniques to greatly increase your dps and sustain your resources effectively. When you see someone explaining a rotation, adding LA and HA they mean Light Attack, Heavy Attack. This is a bit old, but still relevant, and specifically for controllers:

    TL;DW;
"Weaving" is the act of using Light Attacks or Heavy attacks before every active skill
"Swap Canceling" is the act of interrupting the animation (but not the effect) by swapping bar.

You won't be hitting 40k any time soon, as a Maelstrom Bow makes for a big chunk of a stamina DD's dps, but you should be able to reach 30k - 35k in time, with practice.

I say Sunderflame because Spriggan's 2 and 3 pieces gives you max stamina + weapon damage from the 4th, while Sunderflame gives you max stamina from the 2 pieces, weapon crit from the 3 pieces and weapon damage from the 4th. I like to have some crit in my PvE sets.

The 5 piece bonus is comparable, with the exception that Sunderflame applies a debuff, so in a group environment everyone will benefit from it. If you're deciding for a set to make Gold, I advise Sunderflame, as it will have more value in the long run, and you won't have to upgrade another set once you reach trial environments.

    That said, both are good.

    Hope this helps.

absolutely. There will always be a need for players helping players. Alcast does a great job with his builds and I am sure others do a very good job too. There's no need for that persons attitude and I am glad you came here for help.

I hope we help you get up to a more appropriate dps for your level.
