So, is it OK then if they drop the Tel Var part then? Make it only Master Writ Voucher? That is the only form of currency that makes sense for furniture, since it is a currency derived from crafting.

If you don't want to buy them for Telvar stones, just use Master writ vouchers or buy them from other players. Or simply level a new toon to lvl18 and get one free.
If some players are doing mostly PvP, and don't have enough gold or a crafter alt, still will be able to buy these items. Good for them.

The whole point of this thread, as I see it, is that gold is already a universal currency in the game for buying furniture and there is already a merchant set up to sell furniture for gold, so just sell them for gold. In this game, as it exists today, they are actually going out of their way to avoid selling them for gold.
What's more is that they have tied Housing System storage directly to the Imperial City DLC. That is waaaaay out in left field. I can only imagine that they are trying to boost Imperial City sewers and so they latched onto Housing Storage in an attempt to fix that. We will see whether they are addressing a lack of activity or not enough stuff to spend Tel Var stones on when we see how many Tel Var stones they are selling them for.

Well its not directly tied to IC, since you can ghet them also from Writ Vouchers and via Crownstore.

Exactly. And it seems they will be able to be bought with gold, through Guild Stores (and I assume direct trading too) from a crafter, who get them with writ vouchers. Is it one step more than buying directly form a merchant? Yes, but at least it gives an incentive to be a crafter.

Dang sounds like you should start doing that stuff if you want some storage. You should do crafting anyways. It's extremely beneficial. I can't imagine how people play this game and don't do any crafting. Blows my mind.
Also try PvP you might like it.
PvP is full of babies and they nerf our classes cause they get beat by each other..no thanks. pvp is literally a cancer
PvE is full of babies who play the part of the game that takes infinitely less skill. What do you mean "they nerf our classes"? Who? The PvP players? That's on ZoS for refusing to balance both separately. You probably are that guy who went into PvP one time without knowing what you were doing and got cut-down in .8 seconds every fight you were in and now you're forever mad about it.
In my opinion if you dont play PvP in this game you're not very good at the game. Expand your horizons. Learn to play. You might enjoy it.
Your button mashing is clearly more intricate than his.
The common ground is they desperately need to balance the two separately.
Until then, PVP cheese balls and scumbags will hurt the PVE majority.
In PvE there are only so many different things that can happen to you. Every trial and dungeon has its own mechanics. Once you learn the mechanics, you react to them the same way every time depending on what character you play. You learn the same rotation, doing it over and over until you can do it by muscle memory.
While PvP has rotations, the different variables for mechanics you have to wade through are infinite because of all the different combinations of builds and number of characters you can be fighting at once causing you to make calculations and react in real time because it's not the trial you've ran 50 times with the mechanics never changing. PvP requires you to change up your rotations constantly depending on who you are fighting and how they are fighting. PvP requires more intuition and in my opinion, requires more skill to become good/great at.
Also the fact that you refer to people who play PvP as "cheeseballs and scumbags" really shows that you have no idea what you're talking about as you clearly don't play both PvE and PvP equally. You and your buddy and everyone else that refers to PvP and those who play it as a "cancer" are the real cheeseballs and scumbags.
Not everyone who PVPs abuses bugged or unbalanced sets certainly. But it sure does spread and quickly. The streamers amplify this as well.
I’ve spent a considerable amount of time in Cyrodiil. Mostly solo, a few coordinated small groups and rarely Zerg surfing. I’ve seen so much cheese over the years since release. Some has been positive, but most has been negative. Salt, spies, squeakers and bugged/cheese builds plague Cyrodiil daily.
I’m sorry to say, PVP is just not that interesting nor overly essential to ESO’s long term health.
I promise you it is essential to ESO's long term health. I and many others wouldn't play this game if it was only PvE. PvE is the same content every time. The trials and dungeons don't change. My experience in PvP is always different. It's also more popular than ever at least on Xbox NA. Both CP campaigns have large queues every night. You're wrong.
That’s great that you enjoy PVP. More power to you. I enjoy it sometimes as well.
Thing is, in every MMO...PVP folks bank that everyone plays as they do and they are the majority.
Unfortunately, that’s not the case.
I wish I could find the article so I understand if everyone says "yeah, yeah, show us proof" but a couple years back a survey was done as to what percentage of players in MMOs indulged in PvP, it was something like 11%.
I will try to find it again...but don't hold your breath.
Surveys like that are never accurate and sometimes wildly inaccurate. And 11% is still a sizable chunk of your player base.
Sources were the game dev's themselves so...
11% is a goodly portion I agree but hardly the majority and, as such, should not be used to screw up things for the majority which is precisely why I think that the vaunted (and pretty much impossible to achieve) goal of "balance" needs to be separate.
So it was a study and not a survey? Now im confused
Also was this game included in the study? All important.
I agree they need to be balanced separately for more balance. but ZoS has shown just about 0 interest in ever doing that so it's just not going to happen.
PvP is this game is way more balanced than people give it credit for anyways
Let’s say it’s 25% for ESO. (Even though that’s woefully high in my opinion)
The 75% majority is understandably upset over balancing making changes due to the PvP minority.
I think that’s a valid concern.

Ack, you're right to call me out. Survey is the wrong word. My bad and I apologise. It was an article, written by one of the majors (game mag) over the constant whinging between PvP and PvE essentially over resources spent by dev houses and whether or not resources spent were "worth it" and for what percentage of their player base they appeased (balancing PvP at the expense of PvE or, rarely but it happened, vice versa).
The "moral" of the article was that PvP was in no way a large enough percentage to be strictly "worth it" BUT it has a very dedicated "11%" and was deemed to be worthy of attention. Fine by me with that one caveat.
I have no clue about how balanced PvP is in this game. I pay no attention to it given it's of no interest to me aside from when PvPers howl about "balance" and then the nerf stick gets hauled out and, in the thrashing about, PvEers get smacked. That annoys me no end.
No, this game wasn't and I'd sure love to have a percentage. I doubt it's as high as some would claim and I think there is a group of very passionate, dedicated PvPers but they are the minority. I would bet on that one.

Thanks for clearing all of that up.
Now I agree it's the minority but it's still a substantial part of the player base. Paying customers. Many of whom I would but are ESO plus subs. Many have probably bought crowns too.
I also agree it should be balanced separately but it doesn't seem like that's ever going to happen. I play both forms of content and hate when one gets nerfed for the other but I don't feel the nerfs directly caused by PvP have been that detrimental all things considered.

It's the longest grind in the game. It takes over 8 months to research all traits because the process is time gated.
Having said that, the storage furniture is tradable so you can just buy it from other players.

People want to retrait their weapons? Great! lets let them do that.
But then lets also create a confusing new currency that only lets you retrait a few at a time, and forces you to log onto multiple toons to do it. yeah! that sounds awesome!

Crafters dont exist, they are just players doing a thing that any other player can do, quit acting like it’s a serious life career.
