Drop in Cost/Use of Style Material

Something that doesn't make sense to me about the new outfit system is style materials...

If it only cost gold, not style materials to change a look then style materials are going to be basically useless after the update. Why would anyone craft a specific style of armor when they can just craft the default race style and then change the outfit? Honestly most of the style materials are dirt cheap already anyway, but what about the more rare/recent ones? There will be no need for them anymore.

I think they should make an outfit change cost gold and 1 style material per piece. Just my $.02.

Agreed for the same reasons. Either lower the gold cost to half and require 1 style mat per item, or make us pay with either gold or a style mat.

Both style mats and mimic stones are going to be worthless after this.

I really hope style mats will drop in price. It already cost wayyyy to much gold to get all the mats for some of these furnishings. Try getting all the tempered brass you need for furnishing the observatory home. I'm doing that now and boy does it get expensive.

As far as I understand the system so far, you will only be able to use a design for outfits, if you know the respective motif. Also, you can only use them for yourself, not for another player.

So, the majority of players will have zero use from the outfit system since they would need to re-farm all motifs.

The only positive thing about the system is that motive page prices will skyrocket.

It's hard to tell what the effects will be this early on. It there is a new craft-able set released people will still need to make it with something. I suppose you could use a cheap style item since you are wearing an outfit anyway.

On the other hand, there will probably be an uptick in motif farming since you will have to know the motif to use it in an outfit. The new feature will also give players a glaring view of all the ones they don't know, so it is likely everyone with even a little OCD tendency will want to collect everything.
