Hey folks, pretty much what the title says. I'd love to see underwater areas, both indoors and outdoors, caves, delves and such in 2018.

Imho there's a ton of room and potential for new explorations, secrets, treasures, new collectibles and such in this feature that ESO as one of very very few MMOs does NOT have.

It would be great if you guys at ZOS @ZOS_GinaBruno would rework or upgrade your engine so that we could have this. Just think of the possibilities! (+argonian racial use)

I've included a poll to see how many players would like to see this.

PS.: CAN WE ALSO FINALLY HAVE SWIMMING MOUTS (no water dismount), PRETTY PRETTY PLEASE? :3

PPS: HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!

Doesn't that mean there's always potential to do it right this time? Not even saying I want a straight up underwater level. Just ability to explore underwater in already existing levels.

if i remember right you could have gone Under water in Oblivion and find stuff....

Water was all Murky and stuff Nothing special but it added to immersion that little extra that was cool i really liked it.

you sometimes even could find Caves with monsters that was under water....

    it added to the exploration...

I'm a meh, it's not really needed or necessary. A full blown atlantis thing might be a bit too much since it's never been a thing in past TES games, swimming isn't fun, the aesthetics are.
I wouldn't mind it if they maybe threw it into a dungeon or trial where some people would have to swim to do something or they were thrown underwater and argonian swimspeed to save the day.

I don't think we need it. Maybe the aesthetics of an underwater home, or dungeon mechanic. Not a whole zone or anything weird and crazy.

The potential would be cool, but its implementation would be a difficult endeavor. At this point in the game, ZOS seems determined to make as much money as lazily as possible.
It's much easier to design another house and sell it for >10k crowns, than it is to add this kind of content.

No point. It would be such a small part of the game for the massive amount of dev work required. They would need to overhaul every point of water currently in the game to put something of purpose at the bottom of much of it. They'd have to reprogram mobs to chase into water and give them and players new animations for the water skills. Slaughterfish would still slaughter you if you went into the "no-no" areas of the map so don't even think that's a possibility. Really, what do you want this for other than to say that it's in the game. It wasn't designed to be included and going back and changing all that now it counter productive.

I've never liked underwater zones. The 360 degree combat always makes me feel nauseous.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

no, they cant handle with normal content to be worth this price with not to mention about even simple class diversity in PVE because as for now every class look same, changes ar only colous of skills and 2 other DOT skills on stamina build, so as for 1st look its hard to identify which class you see if you dont look on this plauer class icon

do you have seen what they done with morrowind? called expansion which have minimum minimum more "map" to run with less content than they orsinium as dlc so new content in very different new area will be bigger fail than morrowind, I just can gess map to explore will be comparabe even to morrowind while price will be same as for base game if not higher because hey! this type of content/map to exploration is 1st time here! its new different gameplay, its jsut like new game with new rules!

Other MMO's have it, and I think a little competition could do ZOS some good. I am for it, and it could make this game more of an Elder Scrolls game.

You really should say "in the future" because they've already got the whole next year's content already scheduled for release, as it's been in development for at least a year. Dragon Bones, Summerset Isles, Murkmire, Mephala's Web, and Homestead additions are just to name a few that they are already working on.

while i do think it would be cool and is really cool in gw2 - without having specialist know how - my gut tells me the engine isn't built for that and the amount of work that this would require wouldn't justify the end result...you could probably get 3 times the overland content the time it requires to build an underwater swimming system?

Have you played any games with underwater combat? Its slow, underwhelming, and just plain awful. Wow had an entire zone added for underwater combat that noone even plays or sets foot (or fin) in anymore. GW2 it was vomit inducing from all the dizziness. I would rather they place their dev resources in other areas of the game personally.

Also, with the engine they built the game on there are limitations and they cant really add it without some SERIOUS flaws. The question would then become, how worth it is it to add it if it takes years to build and overcome those issues?
