Destro staffs and leap

Does inferno buff leap damage or does lightning buff leap damage? Leap is an aoe but it targets a player which in my mind makes it part direct damage and part aoe. Or does inferno buff the direct portion of the attack and lightning buffs the aoe portion of the attack?

Good question. Meteor is buffed by fire staff on the initial hit, and lightning on the ground based AoE effect. Even though meteor deals it's damage initially AoE. You should test it. Find two white equal trait staffs and test the numbers.

A quick test will bring clarity.
But since Leap should be considered an AoE, it should be buffed by a lightning staff.
However, during times where fetcher flies and deep fissure count as direct hits, you'll never know
