Noob destro staff question

Hello!

So i have a flame staff on top half, and lightning staff on the bottom half, now noob question since i have all my aoes on my lightning staff when i cast them and i go to the flame staff, do i lose the bonuses if they have already been cast and are up e.g Liquid lightning and Wall of storms?

I believe it updates to the staff you swap to. So as an example, you cast your AoEs on your lightning staff bar you get the 8% bonus to AoE damage until you swap to your flame staff. I think most sorcs run dual lightning staves since so much of their damage comes from AoE.
