Builds based on Asylum weapons.

Has anyone come up with a viable build using the Asylum weapons (perfect or imperfect)? I’m trying to work the dual wield (dagger and sword) into a build.

I’m currently playing with 3x VO gold jewellery, 5x Sunderflame body, 2x Stormfist and the Asylum weapons. Sunderflame (heavy attack required for prpc) and Stormfist (stam recovery 1pce bonus) help make up for the sustain lost with the VO 5 piece and it seems to function somewhat, though not as well as others.

The two hand and destro staff seem pretty good when I tried on mag sorc and pvp stam sorc

Anyone else had a crack and got anything viable for vet content?

Edit: spelling

I think most suitable class is Stamina Sorcerer because they use Shrouded Daggers as spammable and that can be easily switched with Steel Tornado . They benefit the most from using Rend since they have a physical damage bonus from class passives . Just do classic Stamina Sorcerer rotation but use Deadly Cloak before the Steel Tornado . Like this :

HA > Rending Slashes (Steel Tornado if already up) > HA > Deadly Cloak (Steel Tornado if already up) > HA > Steel Tornado (Rend if ready) > HA > Steel Tornado > HA > Hurricane > Swap >
    Endless Hail > LA > Caltrops > LA > Poison > LA > Trap > Swap

Obviously , there can be better rotations that are completely based on Asylum Dual Wield but I think this is the most simple one to use .

For PvP, I made a Bow/Bow Stam Sorc. Perfected Asylum and Maelstrom bows. It was fun to 1vX on and quite good, but ultimately nothing comes close to the current Heavy Armor Stam builds out there. Also it would’ve been much more effective on a Stam Warden which has all the tools of being ridiculously strong.

Asylum Bow has a very clunky functionality since Arrow Spray is a clunky skill that rarely connects. Asylum DW is much more PvE-based and even then it is bad.
Asylum 2H is very good in all content.
Asylum S/B can be used efficiently.
Asylum Destro is good and capable of carrying Mag DPS (especially the Perfected version).
    Asylum Resto is bad.

High burst damage, tankiness, good resource return, high mobility..... only on a meta Heavy Armor Stam build will you be able to have it all. No other build will do that for you.

In PvE, your best bet is using a Perfected Destro Staff on a Mag build (mainly Sorc). This is the only Asylum weapon for PvE that is very good.

Also Stam Sorcs make the best use of Asylum DW but even then it performs under what the normal rotation will get you.

I believe there's a mNB rotation using the perfected staff. Also, the 1HS is very good. Can be used in pvp, or in selfish tank situations, such as the off tank in vSO solo tanking the ozara adds away from the group.

Made a quick dummy test on PTS . Here is the result :

    BylkJD.png

    I used :
    5 Hunding's Rage , all Divines , all Stamina enchants . Heavy Chest , 4 Medium Armor .
    5 Vicious Ophidian , all Divines , all Stamina enchants . 2 Medium Armor , 3 Jewelry .
Asylum Nirnhorned Dagger (Poison enchant) + Asylum Infused Axe (Berserker enchant)
Nirnhorned MSA Bow (Double Damage Health poison)

    CP : 13 Physical Weapon Expert , 31 Master At Arms , 66 Thaumaturge , 56 Precise Strikes , 64 Mighty

I have absolutely no penetration other than base value (100) and I am playing with 250+ ping . Looking at my Hawk Eye uptime , 52% Hawk Eye , 41% Hawk Eye II . I didn't even get the third stack of Hawk Eye through the whole test . It looks like I missed more than half of my Bow light weaves .

Interesting thing is , my Sorcerer in live server (1 kena , 1 velidreth , 5 hundings , 5 vo) gets around 34k DPS with decent ping with no CP spent in penetration . So yeah , I think this is viable .

    Rotation I used :

Endless Hail > LA > Razor Caltrops > LA > Poison Injection > LA > Rearming Trap > Swap
HA > Rending Slashes (Steel Tornado if already up) > HA > Deadly Cloak (Steel Tornado if already up) > HA > Steel Tornado (Rend if ready) > HA > Steel Tornado > HA > Hurricane > Swap

    Hope this helps :)

While I agree that the asylum resto will either not be, or very rarely be used in endgame content, I think it's incredibly healthy for the healing environment of eso. It's something unique and attainable for all people to farm, and it would motivate the use of combat prayer by healers who, given the fact that they are choosing this weapon for sustain and are incapable of farming for a master or vma resto, would likely not know the value of combat prayer/would not be actively buffing the group. While I won't be using the asylum resto, it pushes new healers towards buffing the group, and will raise the floor for newer healers, increasing their knowledge of the role and their ability to perform and shpport a group.

And yet the Perfect Version is locked behind the hardest group content in the game... I don't find it very logical to be honest.

I made a bowblade PvP build featuring Asylum Bow: https://youtu.be/A7XOdu3ZzEg

With proper gear, you can get some insane burst damage with it (though there's too many Miat users around atm, it'll be better next patch once they curb down that addon).

S&B has a lot of potential as well, since it's practically infinite magicka when you use Shield Discipline ulti when focused by a lot of people. I'll have to try that out on magplar.

Also, the Asylum 2H is actually used by a lot of the 2H meta builds out there.

The perfected version is only a 3% difference (30 vs 27 I think).

That’s the weirdest thing about Asylum Resto, DW, and S/B. They are great for helping lower CP and newbie players to learn their roles, yet none of the weapons are accessible to them. Not the best design.

Those Perfected Weapons are some of the hardest items to acquire in the game but you gimp yourself by using them in end game as well :/ Only Asylum 2H and Perfect Destro are great.

Also ZOS butchers the Frost Staff with that ridiculous focus on tanking yet still it is given DPS-focused Master/Maelstrom/Asylum effects. Allow Frost Staves to grant bonus Crit chance/Damage already so it actually gets used again plz....

Can't see the Asylum destro prevailing.

For PvP, only sorcs use Force Pulse. After the Frag nerf, however, Master Reach offers more options. It'd be bloody brilliant if we could solely rely on Rune Cage CC, but the missing damage from Frags is now really noticeable. So no Asylum destro.

And PvE? I just can't see having permanent Concussion outdoing the normal lightning sources and fourth trial set bonus.
Okay, maybe in a group with very few sources of it.

Shield and boards has its uses.. thinking probably Magicka tank.

Asylum resto , would be good for pvp. I ended giving it my do healer as got petty sustain compared to others.

Gave 2 hander to my werewolf tank, with blood spawn and werewolf hide. Just saying now that is fun.

Asylum Frost well is my favorite ony warden healer. Allows you to apply concussion while still being able to apply slow debuff and aoe minor mail ...and a chance to freeze eniemies. Great for defensive playstle. It's troublesome to sustain ..wish they would reconsider.

And yet, I see almost half the people that have this staff using blessing of restoration.

I just hope they rethink the DW bonus, slotting rend instead of dawnbreaker costs 200 weapon damage and deadly cloak and rending slash can just be reapplied when need be, it should just make steel tornado cause a bleed effect for 10 and 12 seconds

I'm running an off the beaten path magnb for pvp with the asylum ice staff.

At the moment I am running 5 winterborn 2 skoria 3 necro for jewelry and the asylum ice staff and asylum resto (I don't use blessing though as it doesn't reduce healing ward cost I've found) with all tri glyph on winterborn, out of cyro stats are 36k mag 18k hp 11.5k stam (would be slightly higher but I haven't unlocked undaunted passives on my magblade)

Front bar: elemental blockade, refreshing path, mercybow, crushing shock, and elemental drain devouring swarm for ult
Back bar: healing ward, fear, mistform, degeneration, leeching strikes and resto ult

I've found this to be a pretty fun build, and dropping mist for harness I have had some luck in duels outside of cyro. In no way are you gonna wreck good players running the meta. But it has been fun and trolly build for vivec. It works best by kiting people onto rocks or buildings for the aoe to take full effect.

Hope someone out there try and enjoys this build as much as I have

I am working on building a two hand and bow stamblade for pvp. Running asylum 2 hand, bloodspawn, blessing of the potentates and sheer venom. Should have ridiculous uptime on either Dawnbreaker or incap. And sheer venom should proc a ton.
