If you have 18K Penetration, then your looking at a .67% difference in Penetration, so a .33 Percent difference in DPS. That is not the reason why your not getting the top of the leaderboard. Or dying.

To be honest, gold jewelry isn’t that much of a difference to purple jewelry. If you have the excess AP or gold to toss about, then it certainly is a nice grab. Otherwise, it totally is not worth it. It really isn’t. The difference between gold and purple jewelry regarding DPS is extremely minuscule. It’s truly barely noticeable.
for players like you, yea it doesnt matter but sunderflame in end game trials affect all stam dps, and we care about min maxing. i can finally wear gold sunderflame with a crafted set and not lose out pen for the group
someone stated 120 pen loss for not having 5 full gold, thats quite significant in vet trials
120 pen loss is not significant in any way or form in this game even if your trial group is one of few that fight for the best scores.
like i said, for players like you, 120pen loss is nothing, for top trials guild, it adds up0 -

This. If one of your dps sneezes during the fight you will have a higher loss.
120 penetration is actually 1 CP that you could put elsewhere. In most cases, it will affect the entire distribution of your Blue CP due to the jump points. So it will actually add quite a bit of DPS in the end, since 8 DDs (or 10 in AA) will gain 1 CP.@ Izaki #PCEU

What? Wait what? This post raises so many questions and red flags, but I’ll only mention 1 of them... Where on Earth did you head that 120 penetration loss is a significant loss of DPS in veteran trials? The exact moment someone said that to you, you should’ve IMMEDIATELY counted them as a horrible source for valid information. You are going to sit there, and really tell me that you believe that 120 penetration loss is a significant loss in veteran trials...? Really...? Who’s mans is this?1 -

✭✭✭✭✭120 more pen from Sunderflame is 2-3 CPs that can be removed from Piercing, for all stamina DPS in the group. Those can be put into Mighty, Precise Strikes, Thaum, or Master at Arms. Potentially reaching the next jump point and adding up to 1% damage.
Is this going to change the difficulty of any vet trial noticeably? Definitely not. But it could be the difference between scoring above or below another group on the leaderboard.
This particular set benefits the whole group. It is much more important to gold out than, for example, Hundings rage. And you don't see serious end game players running purple Hundings, claiming the difference is insignificant.1 -
