My question pertains to the 5 piece bonus:
(5 items) While you are casting or channeling an ability, your damage taken is reduced by 15%.
Does anyone know if it works with Guard or even Malubeth? They are both channels in a sense but are we talking about abilities under Skills only?

✭Maulbeth is not an ability it is a proc. Guard is an on going effect rather than a channel. So should be a no to both but I have not tested.

I say this a lot on the forums, but don't base any judgments on tooltip verbiage. Ever. ZOS is king of misleading tooltips and inconsistencies regarding mechanics and effect interactions. Seriously, tooltips are a trap - don't do it.
And in general, most "procs" are considered "abilities" with how they interact with game mechanics. Whether they are categorized as channels is a case-by-case question that can only be manually tested.
I am very interested in the answer to whether MaluNoDeath will trigger Cyrodiil's Light - I'm hoping I still have that set somewhere, if so I'll test and report back next time I'm online.Edited by Solariken on December 23, 2017 10:49PM1 -

I'm running it on my Templar (it was dirt cheap to buy) and trying it with Dark Flare, Radiant, Jabs, etc. and I don't see an aura or a buff under my character menu.

Sets don't have a cast time.

✭Dunno, I do know that it will actively proc on any spell cast whether it says instant or channel time similar to how soulshine buffs instants. The window is very tiny though..."Stendarr's mercy be upon you, for the vigil has none to spare."0
