So why do people play one vs another? (it defenitly isnt because of cp it seems)

Also what is the consensus about builds for cp vs builds for no cp? how do you...erhm..build?

Well, as a stamDk, I must say switching to no-cp really hurts my overall ability to solo play.
I get less sustain, less tankyness, less heals, higher costs overall, Its just a brutal place to play in.

So first thing is, you need to find a way to build that does not rely on CP.
Sets like the truth , or fury, are kind of garbage in no-CP.

On the other hand, bone pirate is veery good. I normally prefer draugr hulk over it but on no-cp Its worth to lose bit max stamina to make up for the lack of sustain. stacking weapon damage over max resistances, makes more sense on no-cp because your max stamina/magicka scaling are gonna be a lot lower because you lose stats you would normally get from CP.

one other thing I found out is, medium fortified brass is 10 times better than medium impregnable, in no-cp, because there are a lot less crits going on.

anyways, thats just from the perspective of a stamDk, that hates the block bot builds.
I spent over 2000 hours in no-CP and I love it, Its like playing without training wheels.

And I like it for that very reason.
Switching back to CP feels like Im on easy mode, even tho Im not CP capped yet.

they require different builds and different sets which is why people generally stick to one.

I preferred non-CP, the gameplay was more dynamic.

But the game is tuned for CP and they never addressed that. Over-mighty NPCs and siege damage get old after a while. I needed at least one more set of gear for any character I played in non-CP. It was jarring to come back to PVP from PVE and have so much less sustain, etc. And eventually the campaign got too quiet. So I gave up and went to Vivec. :/

That you have so much less sustain from PvE heavy attack meta demonstrates a huge issue with no CP atm.

The game is tuned for CP and you're right, ZoS won't address that unless they totally tear down the CP system (which they should IMHO).

No-CP any day. I can deal with being less tanky, having fewer resources etc. I can't do *** if I can't burst my opponents down or run out of resources. Not to say there are no crutches players can use on no CP, but much less extreme and they have to give up more for it.

Honestly I never liked the resource return on heavy attacks, but especially so since theyÄre uninterruptable... It just lets players recover from their mistakes by heavy attacking in your face. :expressionless:

I prefer CP over no CP. I always just felt so gimped in no CP. I would have about 5k less of stam/magicka, and less health as well. No reduction in cost of break free, roll dodge, sprint and less resource regen made for resources that disappeared quite quickly in comparison to all of the assistance you get in CP. Just kinda made me feel like I couldn't do much. I guess if it was all I ever knew it would be fine, but there is another world where you just feel more powerful and can engage opponents for longer and it has CP in it. The TTK is too quick in CP for my taste and even quicker in no CP.

What's funny is both sides of it seem to think that about the other. lol

I've played both, the cushioning is definitely in the CP campaign!

Having played both i think the opposite. Heavyarmor + trollking is way worse in noCP than it is in cp (and it´s already kinda op there).

Cp is where I prosper, feels like the added bonuses help shape my characters flaws and build a more well rounded character.

@Ragnarock41 when you noCP with Impregnable what Armor traits did you run?

If you ran impen, you really over mitigated. Impreg gives approximately 37% crit mitigation

So... Really, unless you're running all sturdy or well fitted you're kinda actually screwing yourself

So really... In no CP, I'm gonna say the 1.6 mod is the higher end of things. Turning that to 23 is pretty good.

With just 2 impen pieces, you're maxing crit mitigation with impregnable.

2 piece well-fittet, the rest are impen. 5 med 2 heavy.

on no-cp lots of the spells are not critting so the mitigation from fortified brass can get insane.

Insane to the point people literally tickle me when I block.

Anyways, I stopped playing stamDk , so those builds are now a bit meaningless to me.

Maybe If I decide to play a stamplar, I might give it another shot.

Too many broken builds with CP and too much lag since that campaign is always full during peak hours is why I play non-CP.
