Poison based build viable?

Is a heavily poison based DK build viable in end-game PvE?

Something like Spawn of Mephala, Morag Tong and either Poisonous Serpent/Sheer Venom/Viper's Sting.

As long as the appropriate buffs and debuffs are achieved, and your dps is where your group expects it, anything works.

Outside of that, I have no clue

Oh yeah, especially if you're a stam DK. They do a crap ton of poison damage.

Actually Spawn of Mephala is already one of the Best Monstersets to run on a Stam DK.
Other would be Velidreth, or Kragh if you need the Penetration.

However Mephala is an AOE Set, so its Outperforming the other 2 options by a lot in trashfights.

Sheer Venom, im not rly sure if it works on the Poison Injection skill, or only on direct dmg executes like NB Impale.
And im also not sure if it works, when the boss is at 60% health and you use an execute skill, if it does it'd be pretty good actually.
If it does work with poison injection, then you can gain a max of 2 ticks per running Posion Injection, however keep in mind that you've a 6sec cooldown on it and Poision injection runs for 10 secs.

Vipers sting and Poisonous Serpent i'd only run if the Following sets are already used by other Players: NMG, SF, Alkosh, Morag Tong.

and even then, i'd say HR + Briarheart would end up in higher DPS, because the additional 5pcs weapondamage you can gain from both those sets, boost ALL your dmg skills (except FoO) and the 2 procsets wont pulling up the missing Damage from the skills.

The first two choices are pretty good, but you want to usually stay away from using sets that just give you some proc damage when there are so many better alternatives (speaking about 5piece) that just boost everything.

But it wont be horrible in any case. Probably poisonous serpent > viper > sheer venom when light attack weaving and viper probably better than serpent when using a lot of heavy attacks (like dks usually do)

PvE ? yes, absolutely.
PvP? nah. one poison spammable short of success.

Yes, there's a set called Morag Tong available from Cyrodiil: RftW mails, end campaign rewards, Bruma AP merchant. If you have 2 or more Stamina DK in a trial group is recommended you use it. http://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Morag+Tong+Set

In PvP some people use it in combination with Poisonous Serpent set from Hel Ra Citadel

You know that Velidreth doesnt deal Poison DMG?
maybe use Spawn of Mephala instead, since it does deal poison dmg

I thought it did at first too, it looks like it should. And it drops from a giant spider...

Velidreth does disease damage, not poison damage. In terms of output Velidreth and Mephala are close, but the latter has more AoE damage and it's buffed by DK class passive and Morag Tong set. I swap between the 2 sets in trials depending on the fight: boss and 2-3 adds - Velidreth, trash packs - Mephala.

Morag Tong should not be used unless in a trial setup. And even then, depends on the amount of stam in the group. Would absolutely never run it in a 4 man; the 10% poison buff is a dps loss compared to most other viable stam PvE sets (VO, TFS, HR).
