How To Be An Honest Seller

Just had a moment in ESO where I learned what honest behavior (which is what I believe this community tries to do) looks like.

<I got a Runebox I didn't need. Offers to sell the runebox for 500 gold.>
<Get into a pm conversation with a Nord player, who offers to buy for 500 gold.>
<Groups up with Nord player, gets into trade window.>
<Puts Runebox in trade window, waits for player to put in 500 gold.>
<Player puts in 1500 gold, but by the time I noticed I had already traded.>
Nord player (unaware he typed in an extra 1): ty
Me: Sir, you are aware that I sold it for 500 gold, right?
Nord player: What?
Me: You gave me 1500 gold, not 500 gold. I can send you the extra 1000 gold back via mail.
<At that point, Nord player runs back to me, and initiates a trade window.>
<I give back 1000 gold, player thanks me, I wish him Happy Holidays and log out for the day.>

If more people were like me, and did this type of honest behavior, this community would be the best community to ever exist in the universe.

I remember once I brought sth worth 150k gold...and the dude sent me a mail with that stuff AND 150k gold. I put him on ignore list and never heard of him again.

kidding ;) Give the man 300k gold back and he thanked me with a free motif

This has happened before on both sides for me too, it's just respectful to return the extra gold, but not something everyone would do, congrats for being nice~
    Hoping for more playable races

I'm just shocked that people don't double-check how much gold is actually shown in the trade window. He could have given you 5 gold and you probably wouldn't have noticed either.

What if something was worth 100m, and you bought it for 1m on a vendor that he forgot extra 0's because was to sleepy or otherwise would be hard to give the extra 99m right?

You can't list items on guild traders for 100m gold

Edit: My mistake, apparently you can

Happened to me yesterday. I was selling something for 79k and player offered me 89k without knowing and accepted. However, I warned him via /w and waited him to correct the offering. He thanked me, even though I'd never take 1 gold more than what we agreed to.

Selling in zone chat is scam prone and a waste of time IMO. I only buy and sell trough guilds. I price slightly below MM average so things sell every day

I admire some players' vivid and optimistic imagination, so to speak, when I see how much gold they want for certain items they sell... I've seen furniture blueprints or food recipes that cost more than classic homes!
One may argue that players within the game can be as greedy as, supposedly, ZOS they (gamers) constantly complain about..so far the subject of "greed" is concerned.

    And..
    - High Elf SorcMag dps [It's quite possible his daddy was a Nord.]

I was in a guild that slowly died off. Even when almost no one was left, a player kept posting loads of stuff in the store at REALLY low prices. I was also in a different and active trade guild, and bought all his stuff and sold it at a great (as in MUCH higher) price. I sent him mail with 100% of the profit I made off the sales, and gave him an invite to my active trade guild so he could sell his stuff at great prices. Honest enough? Actually kind of ridiculous, I'd say (but the sales did count to me in the guild, regardless if the gold ended up as mine or not - so not totally innocent on my part).
