Turning on "auto-loot" really helps. Takes more time to manually retrieve the loot that it does to pick the locks.
You can save 5-10 seconds this way, no doubt.

As soon as you open the chest and see the lid start to rise, move on to the next one. Much less game stutter this way.

Also, if you don't get it right away, or you know you're not going to, simply wait long enough and the mini-quest will timeout and reset without having to abandon/reacquire from Breda.

Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

This is key if you want to get the achievement in one day and are having problems. As long as you don't finish the last chest, you can keep trying all day long.

You do know that you can group with people, each open one chest and you all will get the achievement. I know that this method may sound a little $!@^$&# to some people, but if you're really have problems with lockpicking, it's one way to solve it. You can do the same thing with the Signal Fire Sprint in Bergama also.

I am sure someone else has already mentioned it, but lag can make a massive difference to getting this achievement... Last year when New Life festival started, I was using my old PC and consistently failed to get the achievement, built my new one about halfway through (I didn't get a new PC just for the New Life festival, it just so happened that was when I could afford to buy parts for the new one I wanted, was suffering in ESO due to CPU bottleneck!) and after that got it first try on every character. High ping would I imagine have a similar effect. If you're lagging hard, whether delay is caused by hardware issues or connection issues, the timer for the quest isn't necessarily that reliable.

Its not bugged. Try to at least finish the lockpick minigame at around 35 seconds left for the achievement to unlock. I did on my 2 wardens without the use of "force lock".

I love how someone necro'ed this thread from a year ago, considering they updated the quest to give us a lot more time this year, and people are still managing to use it as an opportunity to brag and to belittle players who failed a quest that was significantly harder a year ago.

Man, people really can't pass up an opportunity to sneer at people, can they? Not even when doing so makes them look like morons.

Know the difference between bugged and inability to get the achievement. It's very easy with force lock but rightfully a bit more difficult if you have to pick them all manually.

Wow, can you be any more arrogant? I did it in 25 seconds flat manually. I spent two hours doing it over and over. Restarted console and repeated. It is a bug.

I would think that insisting that one's skill is infallible, while being told repeatedly by others that there is no issue, would be more in line with a definition of arrogance.

Also, repeating it over and over may well cause issues to occur. Or, dropping/failing the quest may invalidate the achievement for that day.

The problem is you need to actually loot the chests, or it doesn't update. Without the coins the quest doesn't advance. So, no, this isn't that the achievement is bugged, it's a PEBKAC issue.

The Achievement requirements do not state the requirement of looting each chest to obtain it. It states, "During the Trial of Five-Clawed Guile in Reaper's March, unlock all chests in 35 seconds or less."

To be honest, most of us are playing with autoloot turned on. It's a really convenient feature, and (as it turns out) a major part of being able to finish this achievement in time.

This is also the problem with assuming you're not at fault. When everyone is coming in and saying, "I didn't have a problem," then it's probably a good idea to start asking if you're doing something wrong. In this case, yeah, it was the lack of auto-loot.

Also, even with autoloot, I was not watching a run that would have gotten you the achievement. There was a bit too much fumbling on some of those locks, and you were razor close to the deadline when you finished the last one. Even with autoloot, you lose a few moments while pulling stuff out of the chests. I'm not saying, "you suck," just that this achievement does have a decent skill floor, and you're right on the edge of it. With autoloot, you should be able to get it in a couple tries.

And... yeah, I am kinda mouthy. When someone says, "I'm doing it right, it must be someone else's fault," and then turns their ire on the community. This may come as a shock, but I'm not a particularly nice person. Friendly, helpful, usually generous, but not particularly nice.

While auto-loot doubtless helps, I've never used it in the game at all and have not had any problems completing this achievement. Moving on in good time is all you need to do, assuming that you are moderately competent at jiggling the locks, even allowing for the odd broken lockpick. Timing is far more important than auto-loot.

I've done it six times now with no problems. Maybe it does bug for some people, though.

Over and over I barely unlock all three chests at 33 seconds and still no achivement. If you expect us to unlock them, retrieve the coins & return to Tamira in that time for it then I want what you people are smoking.

    [Edited for profanity]

With four points into Locksmith, I found that forcing the locks was the way to easily get the achievement. I opened the easy chest, and forced the other two. There's about a 60% chance of forcing one intermediate and then one advanced lock in immediate succession. Odds go up if you have enough time to try the advanced lock a second time.
