Make Soul Strike Dodgable

Soul Strike has little to no counter play. If you are on the receiving end of this skill, you only have 2 options( not counting nightblades who can cloak this skill after 2 seconds): spam shield as a magicka user/vigor and hold block until it ends as a stamina user, or break the beam by getting behind cover. The first option is a resource drain, especially for stamina builds that do not use sword/shield or put any points into shadow ward. The second option is only good for open world pvp, since line of sight is often frowned upon in duels, or even not available in certain dueling areas. I suggest ZOS make it dodgable so that players with non-block builds can have some form of counter play.

    I guess I’m not the only one making a post about this, but no it shouldn’t be dodgeable. You can block it and heal, but as I said in my post I think reducing or removing the snare would be better. That way people would have to be more selective about using it, either weaving in a snare/cc before hand, or, waiting until person is already low on health as more of an execute. Most good players can block or shield and heal through this attack easily in a 1v1, unless you hit them at low health. It becomes a real issue when you’re in a 1vX situation and the snare prevents you from Los. I think greatly reducing or removing the snare would make this ultimate fair play and do what it does best which is either execute (ala Templars Jesus beam) or hit tanks who can’t move fast anyway.

    No point really. It serves its purpose. There are a lot of things overtime that have changed the whole dynamic of PvP gameplay to only support group play. Solo play is pretty screwed atm unless you run something super OP like a well-built heavy armor Stam Warden or highly mobile Stam NB and you’re highly skilled.

    dodge roll distance ignores any snare, just dodge roll out of sight

    I stopped using it ages ago, it's so easy to heal through.

    Maybe you need some build help.

    As long as it's channeled/snares the caster making this dodgeable just makes it more useless in pvp than it already is with the current meta.

    Seriously... build help...

    Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

    In duels roll dodging out of sight isn't practical. You still take damage while dodging so blocking is the only option. But blocking drains resources.

    And I hate this skill very much. It should not be dodgeable, but neither it should be cancerous as it is now for medium armor.

    Players who say the skill is weak (myself included) are those who are 1vXers or learning to be. One of the first things you learn about soul assault as a 1vXer, is that it suuuuuuucks. You cast it, then almost immediately have to cancel to move position or heal up after the enemies you weren't hitting lay into you. You might get a kill...but having meteor stun or DBOS AoE stun and burst is ten times better than soul assault.

    Imo it's not terrible in duels. And only against medium stamina builds. The skill only truly works on so little players that it's just not worth the slot. I'd rather run empowering sweeps...
