Easy fix for more visual diversity
So a big issue is that using the sets you want to use doesn't let you use the armor look you want to use - costumes are a fix for this but there is only a limited amount... transmog systems are another fix but they are rather complicated and looking at the new trait change system i assume you will need 500 dungeon runs to change the look of one item so...
Why not go an even easier route that while it wouldn't allow you to mix and match would create A LOT more visual diversity and i assume would be easy to implement.
My suggestion would be that as soon as you have unlocked all the armor items from a certain motif - you get 3 costumes - light / med / heavy - for that motif...so you basically can simply wear the motif you want as a costume...
I know at one point zos had an issue with players armor class looking different than what they are wearing - but that is the same case with costumes anyway... i think that would be a pretty simpel and convenient fix for anybody - AND as an added bonus since only eso+ members can costume dye - it would encourage people to sub...
