Eclipse bugged?

So... I've been playing my Templar, and took the skill Eclipse. However, I find it often (and I mean REALLY often, 80-90% of the time) cannot be cast on enemies. The icon is greyed out, even though I have plenty of magicka. I also find it doesn't seem to DO anything.

Anyone else notice this? Is this a bug?

Eclipse shares a cooldown with hard crowd control now. It won't allow you to cast if your target is immune.

Total dark is the same way, but unstable core does cast for me.

I see. So charging in with my shield, or hitting him with shield bash and stunning the enemy will render Eclipse useless until the stun immunity wears off.

Kind of silly, if you ask me, since it DOES do other things. Good to know, though. At least I can take it off my bar and not waste time on it.

Yep, technically a CC. It’s very annoying as many people can manage a nearly 100% uptime of CC immunity, or so it seems based on that skill.

You can cast eclipse first, and THEN charge in with your shield. You can still stun them if you do it that way. But the cc immunity is with pvp in mind. Would be a bit OP if you could have full uptime on this skill amd have the opponent damage himself on every hit.

I wouldn't mind so much that they had cc immunity, if it could still be cast to do the DAMAGE. The fact that it can't be cast at all essentially takes away any usefulness.

That physically hurt me, so much so that my P53 sequence mutated.

Yes, but nearly 100% up time on CC immunity isn't considered OP? Go figure...

Tbh, normally you would stun someone close to on CD too. Trust me, people can absolutely nuke themselves with this skill. I see a NB coming, cast purifying light + unstable core. The dumb/blind ones will completely destroy themselves. It basically forces them to stop attacking you or remove it. Similar to how a cc would behave. But yet again, cast eclipse first and then go in for the stun.
