Inventory management advice please

Even with ESO+ solving the raw material/crafting material problem, I still find myself spending more time than I'd like managing inventory. Maybe I'm approaching this wrong? Any advice would be appreciated.

I have 5 character slots filled with characters I actually play:
NB Crafter
NB DPS
NB Healer
NB PVP
NB Tank
(yeah, I only play NBs...tried others, not a fan)

I have 2 character slots occupied by mules just holding stuff I don't want to sell/trash. The majority of the stuff is:
- 50 or so inventory slots of furnishings. These are furnishings I've made and no longer use or furnishings I've looted and don't use.
- 60 slots of partial dungeon/trial set pieces for current or future characters to use. 8 pieces of Ebon...6 pieces of SPC...etc.
- 20 slots of monster helms/shoulders that I'm not currently using but are deemed "good" for certain builds
- 40 slots of motifs, recipes, and plans from the Halloween event. Each these has anywhere from 5 to 20 in the stack. My crafter has, obviously learned them all. These are leftover.
- 40 slots of sets that are backups or direct swaps for my main characters. For example, I run Hundings/VO on my stamblade but have full sets of NMG and Spriggans to swap to. Same for my magblade healer/dps.
~ 20 slots of random set pieces that look too good to toss. Maybe a Precise purple briarheart dagger or a Divines Scathing Mage piece, etc.
~ 15 slots of junk from the Mystery Box event.

Other than continuing to create mules and having to swap stuff around constantly, are there better options?
Buy a big house and just drop all the furnishings in it?
Clear a guild slot and work to get a guild bank for storage?
Go Minimalist and sell everything that's not immediately being used?
Other?

Furnishing stuff you don't use could be easily put inside that room you had at the Inn. Or thrown away, really. You made it, you have wasted materials to do them. But you are wasting space for nothing. Give it to people for free in the guild.

As for motifs, try having one master crafter charater. This has to know it all. Anything else can be sold or given away. Maybe you get some recognition in the guild for this help. Hollowjack motifs apart, anything else is either garbage (mercenary, ..) or gold (Apostle, ebonshadown, mazzatun,...). Monetize it or throw it away.

Sets. I have three to four full sets on my characters. The idea is being able to adapt in trials. Still I have plenty of free space in the bag. And I collect tons of funny stolen items. I often have more than 100 spots occupied. Sell white items. Decon anything else. Sell resins. Just because it is purple and with the right trait, you ain't gonna use that ice furnace item. Just because ah maybe one day I will... you wont/ Else you would have done it already.

Learn to get rid of useless stuff. You are paying a high price for it.
Having the merchant helps a lot.

How many inventory slots do your characters have, it sounds like you haven't remotely maxed them (which is fine if you don't reckon to hoard things you've no use for), and how many bank slots?

The low characters have 80 slots. The higher ones have far more. My main character has 140ish?

    I have 200 bank slots.

Houses are definitely nice for stashing furniture that you're not using. I'd start with the apartments, which will give you 50 100 spaces each for less than the cost of a small house even if you buy all 3. If you still need more room, get the cheapest small house for another 100 200 slots (and get one without a yard, because yards come with a bunch of rocks and plants that eat up stashing slots).

Edited cuz I forgot to take your ESO+ into account.

    Awesome for 5 NBs

With maxed bank and eso+ (it double your bank slots) you can put all this stuff in bank and have 50% space left so what's the problem?

Yeah, these aren’t even close to being maxed ...

480 is the bank capacity with purchase of Morrowind.

200 is the character capacity with bag and mount space maxed.

14 is the character (toon) limit with purchase of Morrowind. You’re currently at 7.

Unless your leveling an Alt Crafter, sell the Motifs and Recipes. Note recipes from the Witches event are cheap right now, so you might hold on to those. And, Tier 6 Green Recipes are trash, vendor them. Everything else sells.

As for gear, keep the 5 pieces of each set, sans Shoulders and or Head pieces as you use Monster stuff there, and keep any weapons you might have in the sets. Sell the rest

Furniture, stick it in a house somewhere. I use the Daggerfall Overlook as my warehouse. Can't get around the place anymore, so I have to use the Retrieve Function.

I caught a sell on Amazon and got a 2nd account. Anything not bound that I have no immediate need for and do not want to get rid of I send to my 2nd account. I name the characters so I know what each character has in his/her bags.

I have a lot of motifs and recipes on the 2nd account and I check from time to time to see if prices went up enough to make it worth selling them. The weapons armor and jewelry mostly just sits there unless a change to the game makes a set viable or I start a new character that needs gear.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

As a non-ESO+ member, I don't know if I will ever get how people have inventory issues with the crafting bag and double bank space xD.

I mean, I manage without ESO+, and I don't even have max bank space. Then again, maybe I just know the feeling of having no restraints ;p.

If your characters are in different alliances, you can get all the free apartments and store furnishings there. An idea to declutter your bank's inventory a bit is to keep full sets, or individual items for sets you're planning to complete, in the characters that will use them, and not in the bank. Same goes for potions, and foods. That way all there is space in the bank if you want to swap gear between characters. Then, store the treasure maps and surveys on your treasure hunter/crafter toons respectively. If you don't plan to make a second crafter then try to sell those duplicate motifs, and patterns you mentioned. In an emergency you can mail stuff to a friend and they can return the mail so you can store them in your mail box temporarily.

Use one of your free inn rooms to stash all your furniture. I don't keep furniture in the bank.
I have one free inn room that is my furniture storage room.

Get rid of motifs, recipes, plans that you already know. Join a guild and trade for stuff you don't know. Or just vendor it.
No point keeping stuff you don't need.

    I just did a recent inventory/bank cleaning.

As advice, sell everything from the Halloween event, they are dead cheap so you can rebuy them when you need any. You have halloween every year anyway.

Get rid of the furnishing. I'm a hoarder too had tons of furnishing stuff then I realized I don't even have a house and I'm not even into housing (yet), I only have the Inn room which is just no thanks. So I sold all my furnishing things too.

Looked at the sets I'm collecting for my chars (I have 8) and just started to sell/decon things which are easily farmable, buyable. First of all got rid of the blue jewellery because if I really need them I'm gonna farm purple ones. (kept the blue trials anyway), group dungeon, world jewelleries are so easy to obtain. I had/still have way too many monster helmets/shoulders I won't use in the nearest future probably. And having like 300 Undaunted Keys I really can get rid of most of the shoulders tho.

Also made myself a limit I learn/sell recipes/patterns less than 500g to the merchants, above 500g I sell them in guilds. Probably increase the limit if I will get pissed off the tons of recipes/patterns again.

I try to make my inventory on all my chars to 170 with horse training, my bank space is maxed on 480 with ESO+.

That's how I managed to make 40-50 free spaces in my bank and 20 additional spaces on each chars' inventory.

And I'm doing weekly or on every 2nd week a Survery and Treasure Map runs. (I always have 20-40 of them on 2 separated chars, 1 for Surverys other for Treasure Maps)

    Make 9 alt accounts.

Add them all to a new guild you're about to make. There's your new bank space for unbound items. Recipes. Motifs. etc etc.

I get so many green recipes and furniture plans that all my toons know them all - If they know them - they the excess gets vendored

Blue/purple and gold recipes and furniture plans get learnt by my main toon/crafter and the two back-ups. Excess gets learnt by the other toons or sold via guild trader or swapped in a guild or donated for auctions.

I have a set of any overland/dungeon/trial jewlery which sits in the bank or on the toon that uses them. KEEP. They were easy to farm but now are a little more difficult so why waste time farming if you have them.

I have a set of any overland/dungeon/trial armo which sits in the bank or on the toon that uses them. KEEP. They are easy to farm but why waste time farming if you have them.

    My advice:

If you play a lot - know what traits that you need for the set and keep only those.
    Max that bank.
    Max those toons inventory/bag space

Even then space will still be an issue to those of us with the hoarding instinct. :)

You can do a few things.
    1. 5 Nightblades, you should pick, pick, pick, kill and launder everything.
    2. Sell all white and green overland dropped stuff, decon blue and purple.
    3. Save bound stuff if you can use it or sell/decon per #2.
    4. Max out your bags and horse capacity.
    5. Join some guilds without a trading minimum or required donations. Sell extra stuff

Do this and you will be able to buy what ever you need then farm the bound equip.

Gotta start by fully upgrading your inventory slots. Not popular to say but I too was (am) irritated by the low amount of storage, but I hadn't even fully upgraded my slots until Zos pointed out only about 3% of the community had done so. Hella expensive to do for all 14 of my toons yes, but it did ease a lot of my inventory woes.

I am NOT implying their numbers aren't skewed by phantom accounts or free to play accounts, but it was accurate about myself.

    Sell sell sell your junk.

Decon everything your not using for mats and sell. Use that gold to increase your inventory and/or buy stuff back when you need it.

I also just lists thing on my guild traders for guilds without actual traders. Either you sell to a guildmate and yay gold and helping a guildmate or it expires allowing you to store it in your mail for another month. Thats 2 months to clear space for it.

I am one of the people without anything maxed (or eso+).

    You have only 5 character?
You can do 8 characters without crowsn (+3 charcter) = 3x140 (or 200) theese 3 character only for banking. Keep items that u dont use every day.

I'm a craftter I play with 9 character and craft with them too (without eso+) . My bank is for materials only and temporary store before I store in inventories.

Every character stores items for daily crafts (6 green food, 6 green drink, 4 potion, 4 poision, + 9 glyphs (3magicka, 3 stamina, 3 heal)) = 29 item for fast daily crafts.
1 slot potion + food + filed soul gem + lock picks for play.
    + 1 sets
~40-50 items in every characters invertory fixed.
Other 50-100 store other items. It is mean 50-100 free slots to play

    Details:
    1 character store stamina sets
    1 character store magicka sets
1 character store materials for selling + sealed books (legedary quest books)
1 character stores style material parts, empty soul gems,
    1 character stores surveys+treasure maps
    1 character stores provision matierials.

In bank ~ 140 material + premade foods drink for playing.

It was nightmare at the beginning but I got used to it. it helps a lot I have bank assistant npc.

But sometimes I feel ESO is an inventory minigame, the inventory management an invisible wall between me and the playable content, an invisible coercive force to buy eso+.
