Future gear sets

What's next for gear sets? There are so many gear sets now that pretty much everything is covered. Will they nerf some sets just to make newer ones more viable, or will they eventually stop and do something more fun and endgame like for gear?

    I forsee gear sets that revert some of the nerfs, ie. movement speed, sneak, etc. so we feel like we get something back, but not really. Or maybe to another extreme, one piece items (jewelry probably) that can take the place of any set, like a universal item.

    A lot of stamina sets still have no magicka counterpart and vice versa, so we should expect more of those. When it comes to completely new sets though.... no idea.
    This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

    Last few updates have shown me they ran out of ideas already. They've came up with some pretty lame buffs lately.

    On top of that they've nerfed certain buffs into a minor version so they can add a major without it being to powerful.

    They've added quite a few hybrid crafted sets recently. Being crafted we can't combine them because of the jewlery thing. Perhaps a hybrid set with jewlery that drops in overland or dungeons?

    Gear sets are great but I think they need to do something new with gear. Tier based, further upgradable, anything to keep character progression a major part of this game

    I’ll tell you what it won’t be for me: CP 200 or otherwise trivially gated versions of the gear I’ve already acquired. That’s the day I quit.

    There are some sets that are an absolute joke. Let's take a look at the crafted ones.

    Death Wind's 5 piece bonus: When you take melee damage while you are under 35% Health, you knockback and stun all enemies within 8 meters of you for 4 seconds. This effect can only occur once every 30 seconds.

    Either reduce the cooldown, or replace the bonus entirely. Have it give physical resistance & health instead.


    Ashen Grip's 5 piece bonus: When you deal direct melee damage, you have a 10% chance to breath fire to all enemies in front of you for 1544 Flame Damage. This effect can occur once every 4 seconds.

    Increase the damage. It doesn't have to be on par with other proc sets, since it's a 2 trait set, but 10% chance to deal 1544 damage is laughable. I say double it, at the very least.


    Tava's Favor, Oblivion's Foe, and Way of the Arena, are just useless.

    Clever Alchemist's 2 and 3 piece bonuses are bizarre. More health, in a set intended to give more weapon/spell damage? Why?


    The sets definitely need more work done on them.

    And by god, there must be a way to disable the floating orbs on certain magicka sets. I want to look like a necromancer, not a glow stick.

    Not gonna lie a stamina infallible aether sounds fun for a 2 hander build, if they really wanna mox it up they can add alternate weights to exsisting sets as unique boss drops like a medium chest for dreugh slayer or a heavy Vicious ophidian peice to really mix up build ideas and stat tweakers.

    On other thought i feel they should remove the 5pc gear requirements from passive skills and make it all a per peice effect youd see mountains of new gear combos tanky dps 3pc heavy 4 medium etc or a dps like tank 4 heavy 3 medium.

    Or add more unique sets like unfathomable darkness with penetration as a 3pc effect

    we already do have an equivalent of stamina set, with similar bonuses like infallible aether:

    Vicious Serpent Set
    LEVEL 50 CHAMPION 160

    (2 items) Adds 833 Weapon Critical

    (3 items) Gain Minor Slayer at all times, increasing your damage done to Dungeon and Trial Monsters by 5%.

    (4 items) Adds 833 Weapon Critical

    (5 items) Reduces the cost of your Stamina abilities by 8%.
    When you kill an enemy, you restore 2150 Stamina and gain Major Expedition for 20 seconds, increasing your Movement Speed by 30%.

    (5 items) Adds 129 Weapon Damage

    They need to bring crafted gear up to parity.

    I would like some Survivability set suitable for PvP like
    1 : Max Stam
    2 : Max Magika
    3: Weapon and Spell damage
    4:After breaking free out of stun you gain Major Vitality and Major Protection for 2 seconds.

    I want a set for healers that will compete with SPC, something that boost dps as much but in a different way. Or a monster set that is worth dropping worm or mending.

    There will be sets to counter other sets... like if your enemey wears troll king, he gets a debuf to his damage etc. :P:P:P
    I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

    Since some of the oldest sets have viability and some of the newest sets are fairly niche for less than BiS builds it does not seem Zos is taking that approach.

    How about a proc set who has an chance of resurrect an random fallen player, truly random so you don't want to use it in PvP :) Yes it would be pretty useless outside a few setting like nAS pugs :)


    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    I want interesting support sets. Especially for healers. Like maybe a set worm but have it be a weaker alteration mastery and reduce the cost of everything from skills to dodge roll to utli for the whole group. Or a set the gives the group minor heroism.

    I'm guessing more of the same - proc sets with varying visual displays, but ultimately similar to what's currently out there now.

    It's a pitiful jack of all trades set. The only decent thing is the 5 piece bonus, but you just gimp yourself with the previous three bonuses.

    Fisherman Waders - 1 Piece Bonus - 10% Chance to double your catch.

    Farmers Overalls - 1 Piece Bonus - 5% stacking bonus to double your yield.

    For diversity there could have been some sets geared towards overland roaming, questing, farming, fishing etc. Have some bonuses that increase loot quality, chance of loot, amount of loot, trader/NPC interaction bonuses, for example.

    As a side bonus it would also make running it NPCs slightly more concerting - as in having no combat bonuses...

    There could also be specific skill-related bonuses, we already have weapon type, damage type, class type.
