I think your bosmer would also look good but in all honesty next year transmog will likely come out and you can make a similar attire with daedric light leggings, silken ring shoulders/hlaalu shoulders, Mazzatun sandals, hlaalu gloves and for torso minotaur or mazzatun

Knowing how terrible RNG is in this game (I suppose you've participated in other events with loot boxes before and maybe ran vMA or something?) and still running random dungeons with freakin 9 characters per day to get one specific item is, frankly, kinda silly. Especially if you come here after and cry about the time wasted.

I found this event to be highly insulting. But I do get what you’re saying. I just don’t know what else to do.

Here’s how I am. When I get fixated on something, it’s extremely hard for me to let it go or compromise. I have certain vision for all my characters in the game. If one doesn’t meet that vision, I can’t use them. I’ve been purposely avoiding questing for certain characters until I can get them to look exactly the way I want.

To put into perspective on just how close I was, I had everything I needed for this last character. I had the Volar’s Crescent Staff, a discontinued dolmen drop that I paid 750k gold for (2 days later, I found another one for 200 gold). I miraculously managed to get a Plague Husk Horse from one of the Crown Crates, which even I didn’t consider a realistic expectation. That was 2/3. Item number 3, the Dark Shaman costume, was right there in front of me! Yet, my luck ran out here of all places?!

It frustrates me to no end. I was so close!

It's true though. The fault lies with the people who feel compelled to grind for everything in this game. Just play for fun. Be happy with the rewards you get.

I understand that and as someone who is OCD about RP stuff I do get it.

However I started learning over the years that sometimes things are outside of my control, it sucks when something can't be "perfect" and it will bug me to no end. However I also realise I was making myself miserable because of that.

I won't say this event was all sunshine and rainbows, there was a lot of confusion over what to expect and it was a little disappointing how it turned out, but to throw in the towel or get upset over one thing outside of your control will ruin so much joy which could be had in life.

Ugh, there’s that phrase again. Several times it’s come up over the past few months in different places. Who knew I’d need it here of all places?

Well I’m definitely not giving them any more of my money, subscription or otherwise. But I suppose I should wait until I’m less irate to make a call on uninstalling the game completely.

That's not the way I read it because the OP clearly said, "If the Dark Shaman costume comes back again, I’ll be back I guess." To me, that means the other 'stresses' are tolerable but not getting the costume, isn't.

I live by the philosophy "expect nothing and you won't be dissapointed". It's a healthy attitude based on the RNG in the game.

For me the event was more about doing dungeons than getting boxes, but that's probably because I didn't even read any announcements and such, plus I'm not a sucker for the eye candy. I'm happy I've gotten some furnishing schematics I was able to sell for few hundred thousands, but had I gotten none, I would still consider the event to be fun (save for the first day and grouping issues on PC/EU). For players that do run the events only for rewards, though, a clear statement on the loot tables would be great. I mean, if people knew the item they want has a drop chance of 1 in 10 thousands, they wouldn't expect to get it, but would consider themselves lucky if they did (and be very happy about it). But it is as certain as the fact that the Earth is flat, that some people would immediately start a forum crusade, had they seen an item they want has a very low chance to appear. One way or another, it's bad.

I agree, make future events where you earn tokens or whatever, with NPC's who take the tokens in exchange for a reward you actually want.

RNG has a tendency to punish the most committed at times, and yes, even as a semi-casual I do think time should be appropriately rewarded, as it does feel as if player time is no longer valuable in the MMO world.

Agreed. The event was absolutely awful. I never once felt like I was celebrating anything. I felt like I was being punished for no reason, getting absolutely absurdly terrible RNG from the boxes. Not really my idea of fun tbh

Seriously, if they had made the costumes runeboxes I would've given you one for free. Duplicate pulls weren't supposed to happen, but my loot log said I pulled Dark Shaman six times. Every time I was left with only trash as my 'reward' since I already have the costume.

I sympathize with your frustrations but honestly it was a free event.

To be so angry and rage quitting the game for not having been given the correct free stuff (but still given free stuff nonetheless) is a little asinine in my honest opinion.

Even the guy who spent $1k USD on Crown Crates for the Adamant Dwarven Horse (and ended up not getting it) wasn't as angry.

A good way to start the day, and to be in good mood is to do a list of 10 things you are grateful for.
    For example:

I'm grateful for being alive and healthy
I'm grateful for having a comfortable home
I'm grateful for having food in my fridge
I'm grateful for having a wonderful and loving family
I'm grateful for the blue sky and the sun (or the snow, or the rain.. whatever..)
I'm grateful for I've all I need to have a comfy life
I'm grateful for I live in a country in peace
I'm grateful for having a good computer and internet
I'm grateful for being able to play video games
