Soporific Melody

While I like the music in the game, it feels like the same three tracks are getting played with very few exceptions (i.e. Craglorn and Coldharbour). Otherwise it's all this soft winding melodic strings and orchestral deal. There's no dark brooding theme, even in Rivenspire. There's no serpentine oboe track in Alik'r. No jungle drums in Greenshade. It's all just the same mishmash of orchestral -- and again, what is there is quite good; I still enjoy it despite having heard it a billion times. There are just different ways to go with this though and it becomes noticeable after a while that you're always either hearing the same battle theme or the same woman lilting in key with a violin for the bulk of your play time.

A non-critical suggestion that would improve the experience, I think. The zones are unique enough to warrant their own themes.

People went to Grizzly Hills and it is remembered for the music, just saying OP is on to something.

Totems of the Grizzelmaw is, to be fair, one of the best tracks from WoW period. The newer expacs are largely forgettable 'epic' orchestral scores.

Jesus, ESO Morrowind even managed to *** up 'Nerevar Rising' by turning this simple but powerful score into a big epic mishmash of sounds with a choir. It's no where near as good or impact as just opening the original TES3 and just letting those first few notes wash over you.

Epic =! Good. Character, personality, memorability, these are what make a soundtrack stand out.

Yeah what they did to Nerevar Rising was bad...

Really people do need to learn less is more. Every game these days have epic scores and none of them are remembered. Back when we had less tools to work with we made much more memorable soundtracks.
