That's right, the loot tables contain a '1 x lock pick' entry.
This is quite possibly the worst reward box ever received by anyone during any of the ESO special events. I had to double check the calendar to make sure it wasn’t April 1. ZOS should be ashamed of this.
Given the time investment of running just a normal dungeon with other random players, this event is simply not worth it. The absurdly low drop rate of even decent - not great just decent - rewards makes it very difficult to justify the time and effort in participating in this event.
Mimic stones, surveys and costumes are all pretty good rewards imo. You really gotta look at it more as a lottery than a farming opportunity.
You get your ticket and have a chance of winning the lotto, and the fun is the lead-up to the number drawing (box opening). Looks many people are going in with an expectation of winning so of course they will be disappointed.
