Programs are probably the cause of your high ping/latency.

That was rude. U think playing against people with normal ping is fair? I cant do my rotation properly for a good dpsing and cant do too much in pvp beacuse of lags...

Note: this doesn't actually change your client or the content of the packets you are sending, only by which way your packets are sent (note: if the server is in the same country, you may notice no difference at all, since the routes used by WTFast or the usual ones will be roughly the same).

That said, even if the content of said packets is not modified, this might fall into this article:
You agree not to use any hardware or software or any other method of support that is not authorized by ZeniMax or that may in any way influence or advantage Your playing abilities, or influence or advantage Your use of the Services. Third party tools, the use of "bots", "speed hacks", "deep-link", "page-scrape", "robot", "spider", algorithms or other programs that copy or monitor any part of the Services (including, but not limited to, the Game(s) and/or forums), software that transmits, manipulates, or distributes (including, but are limited to, "mirroring") the data stream or any aspect of the Services to another computer, server websites or other publication or distribution media, or software that permits You to use Services without human input are examples of methods not authorized by ZeniMax.

At which point I would definitely wait for official confirmation. "Is forcing a specific packet routing (without modifying said packets) considered a violation of the ToS?".

Using a 'gaming VPN' is not against the TOS. That is *not* what the above poster's quote refers to.

That said, a 'gaming VPN' cannot change physics. There is a minimum latency you will experience. Its based on distance to the server.

For example, as an Aussie playing on PC/NA, I will never see under 200ms, and so my normal 230ms is great.

WTFast (or Battleping or any others) cannot change that. The benefit will be if you need to be re-routed to avoid bad nodes, or some other issue. It will not improve your latency past whatever the minimum dictated by physics.

VPNs are not a bannable offense. They can never, ever give you a speed advantage. If you live in the server country it won’t help. It might make your game playable if you live outside the server country. I can also recommend Mudfish.

I play from Australia: Battleping and Leatrix Latency Fix improved things (forgive me I'm not that kind of technical) no end. PVP faction battles and Vet Trials are much smoother & playable (though far from perfect) than life without them.

I can't see a reason why using a specific VPN (that's what I understand this "wtfast" does) would be in violation of the TOS. I'm in Germany and have 20ms ping to my provider, and 60-80 in-game. I wouldn't consider it an "unfair advantage" if someone who has a much higher ping uses network technology to improve their situation.

On the contrary, it'd be a good thing if that tool actually works as advertised. :) In any way, I agree with the other posters, especially @Asmael's explanation for what it does.

When I first read this topic, I was immediately skeptical if a tool on your PC can improve network latency. It could - if the routing path through the VPN is actually considerably better than your path without, since the VPN itself induces some minor lag due to en/decoding and packet processing. You'll need to be lucky if it improves your situation, but I'd say, go give it a try!

EDIT: That's "packet processing" on the network level. The contents of the packets, i.e. the ESO game protocol, are not changed in any way.

I'm pretty sure he was making fun of CE users not you. But yes you can use wtfast or battleping but they really only help for some ppl tbh.

If your VPN endpoint is shared with bots, you could easily get picked up in a ban wave.

i can assure you this is true. i use one regularly. does it make my ping lower? no. in fact, slightly higher. i could reduce that but the vpn is for other reasons which i cant change.

the only program you can get to lower your ping is one called moving house.

I've recommended using a VPN to other people - looking at my friends in Down Under. It seems to help some folks. You won't get banned. However, the best way to increase PING if that's your goal is to physically move closer to the servers or ISP that ESO uses. My understanding is that they are hosted in Texas - enjoy the barbeque, Tex-Mex, and other fine things the state has to offer, ya all!

Yep. I've used BattlePing in the past when my ISP was having trans-Pacific issues. It smoothed out those edges, but it didn't (couldn't) make it 'faster.'

complaining for 150 latency??? jeez lot of us play on 300+ daily (since 2015 myeself)... getting a better/faster provider or disable other things that use internet while playing helps, latency isnt aways servers fault..

If you want a steady ping rating then you should think of ways to actively cool your router and modem, I did that and my ping has stabilised very well.
Note that this is not to get better ping, this is just to manage your ping so as to reduce lag spike frequencies to potentially 0 (speaking from your end) and maintain an average ping rating throughout your game time.

Oh, i can do my rotation but comparing to my friend im 1.5-2seconds slower. Testing rotation is Vigor>roll dodge>cloak>swap>rally. I just want to know is there a way to speed up rotation without illegal things(we dont like cheaters  )

Technically running any program over your connection to try and reduce your ping would probably just increase it since it would be using more bandwidth....

My issue is variable latency 189-600 up and down all the time. Makes smooth and effective light weaving esp with siphon a nightmare. I use force pulse weave but the sustain is pfffft - I pretty much hate my magblade right now as a result.

I’ve tried all different providers, all variations of suck.
