please dont support their poor server and tech performance by buying crowns- we re only reinforcing their business model. until they improve server performance, on all platforms, and fix cyrodil loading screens - we should all hold out. crown crates - has ruined this game. its allowed them to thrive all the while while putting out subpar products. the only way we can vote is with our credit cards so i encourage everyone to restrain themselves.

when /if they do improve their service- THEN lets get back to supporting them and making a point of it. this is simply reinforcing poor behavior like giving a spoilt child sweets.

You make it sound like everyone was happy with the game's performance and content until the crown crates came along, and then it all went wrong because of them. The fact is that some people have been complaining about performance and content issues since the game began, while others have never had any such problems. None of that changed with the introduction of crown crates, some still have issues with the game and others still have no issues with it.

While it's extremely fashionable to explain away every individual problem on crown crates, it simply isn't remotely sensible to do so and the whole mass hysteria that has built up in the MMO genre generally over lockboxes is way over the top and in serious danger of killing a good argument through over-exaggeration.

Crowns are disconnected from the game, so not buying Crowns due to server and technical performance isn't really sending the right message.

Marketing can be interesting. They like to give us what they want. It is why we buy and how they make money. Following that line of thought, when we are not buying Crowns, it can be interpreted as being because the Crown Store is not selling what we want. The obvious response is to find out what we want in the Crown Store and put it in. Usually, at a high price since there is obviously a demand. Not buying crowns drives the need to make Crown Store better, not the game.

We can tell them to fix performance problems and bugs, and they do listen, but the only message that commands their attention about the game is not playing the game. Even then, only when it comes from lots of players. They don't know exactly why, because people leave the game for lots of reasons, but they probably get the idea. If enough people do this, and they can afford to fix the game, they might just do it. Otherwise, it is a sign that the game has run the course. The studio joins you and moves on to other games.

TL;DR: Go ahead and buy Crowns if you want to. Personally, I am waiting for the sale, but I see no benefit to a "boycott" over performance and bugs.
