How does the queueing mechanic work for group finder?

Today I just queued for about 2 hours, then I reloged once and queued again 1 minute later, this time I got into a group almost instantly. Such situations have happened several times before. These make me really wonder how this queue system works exactly. Do ZOS really arrange the queueing order according to the time people start to queue?

I think they do. But for some time now I think there has been a chance of getting stuck. To many stories like yours floating around. Heck I’ve seen it enough on my own to think something is wrong.
I know I’ve but this on the forums before but it is my best example. The gf and I queue up, we are both dps. After a bit we get a tank and an healer and get tempest island. The healer drops right away.
We curse our luck knowing it could be a while before we can round up a healer but we decide to wait it out, as the tank says he is willing to stay. We kill time clearing of the beech and generally just annoying each other jumping around. About 45 minutes pass we are getting ready to call it quits and bam in comes a healer.
We say, finally a healer! We have been waiting around 45 minutes for a replacement.
To which the healer responds, that is strange I’ve been sitting in the queue for around 90 minutes I was getting ready to log off.1 -

You got the phantom queue bug, sometimes then the some refuse to join you are not queued even if it says put in front of queue. As you are in front of queue you should get in pretty fast, more than 2 minutes and you probably have this bug.Today I just queued for about 2 hours, then I reloged once and queued again 1 minute later, this time I got into a group almost instantly. Such situations have happened several times before. These make me really wonder how this queue system works exactly. Do ZOS really arrange the queueing order according to the time people start to queue?
Queue time for random normal as DD is 12+-5 minutes. Now if you just want to do some unpopular dungeon wait times is longer. One tricks here is to mark multiple dungeons you want to run. You can mark both normal and veteran ones, even the same dungeon in normal and vet. Latest is nice then farming gear.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.1 -

✭✭✭✭So if you ever go more then five minutes in the queue, leave and requeue, there is no first come first serve, there can't be and I don't understand why people would sit and let then clock tick up for more then five minutes.2 -

You can eiter queue for one random dungeon either veteran or normal, or if you select specific dungeons.

Here you can technically select all normal and veteran dungeons at once
Selecting multiple is very nice then farming, doing pledges or just want to do the last quests.

madeeh91rwb17_ESO✭✭✭✭Canceling a queue after ~5 minutes in a healer or tank, and then restarting it puts me up in a group instantly more often then not.
