hey guys,

I'm returning player trying to get back into ESO. I have a 3 characters at level 50, and my CP is only at 75.

I'm trying to figure out what it is I should be doing. There is so many quest to pick up and I don't know what I should and shouldn't pick up. I see people are power leveling to 50 and skipping all the main quest and faction quest things.. What is it that they are trying to get to? I didn't get to really play any of the DLC. I moved to Xbox and played a bit there a while back, but haven't even played endgame there either.

I'm looking for some advice when It comes to PVE and PVP both.

PVE: What should I do to get my CP up? What should I be doing to get geared? Once I a geared, what is the endgame content I should focus on?

PvP: I assume PvP is little easier to get back into, Just que for the Alliance war or Battlegrounds. But where does PvP gear come from? I'm big into crafting so can I just Craft my gear or will it not be good enough for me to be able to be good.

I really appreciate the help and advice!

Thanks

Pretty much you want to get to cp 160 ASAP its the max gear level. Once you hit CP 160 you might want to do Veteran Dungeons more often for monster gear sets. You can do whatever you want on the road to 160 and beyond have fun do quests, dungeons etc the pve endgame is doing Trials(raids)3 are in the Craglorn Zone and another 2 or 3 DLC trials scattered around.

Crafted gear is very good for PvP and PVE
PVP is meh CP battlegrounds are cancer but with a decent build Cyrodill PvP can be fun.

If you're into questing I highly recommend doing the alliance quest lines, as you'll get a ton of XP, eased back into the content (granted, 90% of overworld PVE is laughable, but hey, better than nothing) and you'll end up with a bunch of skill points.

Definitely get to cp 160 ASAP, and once you reach there, there's the big question.

What do you want to do? What role do you like doing? Find that out for yourself and look up build guides, but here's some basic gear guidance mostly centered around crafting:

If DPS, craft yourself a set of all-Divines Julianos (which is in Wrothgar, but the DLC is conveniently 75% off right now!) if magicka, or Hunding's Rage/Night Mother's Gaze (in Reaper's March/Bangkorai/The Rift) if stamina. Since you probably wont have a monster helm for a bit, you can probably find Willpower or Agility (mag/stam respectively) on a guild trader for non-exorbitant prices. (And you'll have all that gold from questing!) There's a bunch of good DPS sets, but build guides should point you in the right direction since most of them are better for some classes than others.

Tanking and healing is a little more complicated, but I'd recommend crafting Hist Bark (in Shadowfen/Greenshade/Rivenspire) for a tank, and honestly sticking with Julianos for now for a healer. The fortunate/unfortunate thing about healing is there's several great sets, but they're all in dungeons or trials. From there, you can run Crypt of Hearts for Ebon Armory for your tank, and White-Gold Tower (on normal, probably!) for Spell Power Cure and Vaults of Madness for Worm's Raiment for your healer. (I don't main a tank or a healer though I have them, so feel free to correct me!)

Then you can start to get into normal trials. Several good sets drop in them, like:

    - Vicious Ophidian and Infallible Aether from Sanctum Ophidia, Aetherian Archive and Hel Ra Citadel for stam/mag DPS respectively
    - Mending in Aetherian Archive for healers
    - Alkosh in Maw of Lorkhaj for tanking/stamina DPS, and Moondancer for magicka DPS
    - Master Architect and War Machine in Halls of Fabrication for mag/stam DPS respectively

Maw of Lorkhaj and Halls of Fabrication will require the Thieves Guild DLC and ESO:Morrowind respectively, but the Craglorn gear is still perfectly acceptable.

Once you're at about 250-300 CP and you're comfortable with your build and mechanics, then you can get into veteran DLC dungeons and the veteran Craglorn trials.

I'm not comfortable enough with it to offer PVP advice, but I hope any of that helped regarding PVE. :)
