PvP Magblade

Want to start PvP on my beloved Magblade. What gear should I use for a PvP Magblade? And more importantly is there a specific build to use?

Thanks

Good on you for jumping into PvP!

That being said.. it's a bit lazy asking without doing any research yourself.

There is a whole bunch of threads in these forums.

Also many build videos on YouTube (try "eso magicka nightblade pvp build") that can get you on the right path to find the best build to suit your play style. Those vids will walk you through gear, cp distribution and skills.

If you at least have an idea then people can help you fine tune it a bit because that's a very broad question with many different answers depending on each persons preferred play style....

putting together a build through trial and error is probably the thing i enjoy most about pvp...

I bet if you really took a moment to think how you'd like to play - you'd get pretty close to whatever the meta might be these days in regards to putting together your gear, mundus, champion points, attributes and ability rotation...

Thanks guys, I just struggle to find the current stuff.. Everything I find is either 2015-2016 or early 2017 and unsure if those builds are still strong as I don’t PvP right now! :)

Lot of the more prominent players have 'clockwork' tested builds...

Gilliamtherogue has some good vids on YouTube...
dottz gaming has all sorts of guides...

EDIT: Also for pvp... lot of practice is almost more important than the build. You can copy it identically and still suck... that's the boat I'm in. I understand everything about the build.. the whats and whys.. but haven't built that automatic response without thinking that top players have...

There’s different styles of play too. Anything from survivability, high offensive burst, or multiple kills at once. Survivable builds usually run sustain gear such as Shacklebreaker, Lich, Amber Plasm. High Offensive builds usually run some combo of sustain and damage or all damage, sets include things like Julianos, Burning Spellweave, Clever Alchemist (if it still is used since it’s nerf). The multiple kill builds, dubbed “BombBlades”, use sets, skills, and Ultimates to let off a huge burst that can kill multiple people at once if done properly (this has been heavily nerfed though and requires more skill to do). These bombblades used to run Alchemist but I believe that has disappeared since it’s nerf, I think most builds use Spinners, if I am not mistaken. One 5 piece you will always need for a bomb blade is Vicious death.

So basically look for whatever playstyle you feel is better for you Offensive or survivable/defensive, you won’t be able to bomb blade until you unlock Proxy Det through PvP’ing. Basically when I look for builds in YouTube I would type “ (Magicka or Stamina) (Class) (PvE or PvP) Build (Most Recent Update)” ... so you should look for “Magicka Nightblade PvP Build Clockwork City Horns of the Reach”. I added “Horns of the Reach” because clockwork city is still fairly new and might not have a bunch of builds out yet. Look for the most recent video and see how you like it.

If you are looking for a cheap beginner build, just try some crafted 5 piece, (Julianos, Shacklebreaker, Seducer), 3 Willpower, 2 piece monster set and Random staves you might have (ideally Gold). You won’t be blowing people up by yourself but you will be supporting in a group playstyle. But basically it’s personal preference. If I was doing PvP, i’d run 5 Spinners, 5 Vicious Death, 1 Backbar random gold Flame/Lightning Destro, 2 Swords of Torug’s pact front bar but that’s because I enjoy fighting zergs. If I was making a solo open world Build with the gear I have already, i’d Probably do 5 Julianos front bar, 5 Lich back bar, 2 monster set. Destro Staff front bar, Resto Staff back bar. But that’s just me :)
