When Akatosh slew Lorkhan, He ripped his heart right out,
He Hurled it across Tamriel, And the heart was heard to Shout:
Red Diamond! Red Diamond!
The heart and soul of Men.
Red Diamond! Red Diamond!
Protect us till the end.

The laughing hearts sprayed blood afar, A gout on Cyrod fell,
And like a dart shot to its mark, Down in an Ayleid Well.
Magicka fused the Lorkhan Blood To crystal red and strong
Then Wild Elves cut and polished it down To Chim-el Adabal.

Red Diamond! Red Diamond!
The heart and soul of Men.
Red Diamond! Red Diamond!
Protect us till the end.

When Elves lost Nirn to Men, Akatosh gave the stone
To Saint Alesh in token of Her right to sit the throne.

Red Diamond! Red Diamond!
The heart and soul of Men.
Red Diamond! Red Diamond!
Protect us till the end.

It gets in your head once you hear it.

It's basically Tamriel's version of this song:

    I like the superior song.

Not going to lie: I've caught myself belting out "THE PLANEMELD IS NIIIIGH, THE PLANEMELD IS NIIIIIGH" on more than one occasion.

I don't have any strong feelings about it. It's nice enough but not something I'd go out of my way to listen to.

This thread, incidentally, reminds me of something that has been bothering me since Morrowind: I wish we could play specific songs with the /lute and /flute emotes. The songs that were added with Morrowind are WAY too cheery, and I have to cancel the emote every time I get one of them. So many of the bard songs in the original game are so gorgeously melancholy:

I don't but I wish we could bribe the barbs to play certain song in the city. (it's a prefect gold sink and makes people happy). Or why not advance class the bard where it buffs in the wild? (extra 100 point damge on harpies, 5% speed from guards, invsiblity for 30 secs) Also have to go collect rare songs to get better buffs @ZOS_SoundMaster

I do like how they have all these different voices singing it. Some of them are quite painful to listen to, like if I were to sing the song.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Music transcends artificial homogeneous boundaries. Music is nature, and nature cares not for borders.

On the other hand, bad music belongs in Oblivion.

I can recall a particular bard from Beyond Skyrim Bruma that was quite talented. Though his lute got stolen.

Yeah, but the song definitely has overtones of human dominance over elves, so it seems like it wouldn't be too popular there.

Then again, I seem to remember "Age of Aggression" and "Age of Oppression" could both be requested in any city in Skyrim, regardless of political affiliation.

I really like the elderly male bard in Stormhold because he's kind of terrible. :) (No offense to the voice actor, who I remember from DA:O, he's v expressive.)

If its Malukah singing I'll take it, but the melody is pretty bland compared to some of the other bard songs (think the Pact song, that one is great).

Still, nothing tops the Sovngarde theme in my opinion.

I really wish there an 'Other' choice because the song in and of itself is fine, the problem is that it is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE when sung by the male bard that is prevalent in Daggerfall Covenant. He really needs to be removed from the game because listening to him is akin to listening to nails on a chalk board. Great voice actor. Terrible singer.

I do not mind the words, but ZEN could hire more people. I mainly refer to Maluakah. It's pretty annoying to hear her in every corner of Tamriel.
